USA EXPERIENCING MYSTERY ODORS

When some months ago, a strong, still mysterious, bad odor wafted in from New Jersey into New York, it occurred to me that this was or could be a test by terrorists examining the best spread of biochemical or even nuclear radiation into New York for maximum damage effect. Here we go again? With a ratcheted up testing process as the dogs of war strain to be unleashed against Iran? (Alan) United States experiencing mysterious odors The reports of mysterious odors are popping up all over the United States. New York City experienced an odor with no known origin earlier this year, creating somewhat of a panic with the citizens, which is understandable in these terror times. Connecticut has had there share of an enigma fragrance, with no origin ever discovered. Even as far North as Alaska, an odor with no known host was evident to citizens and public officials alike. There are countless other locations throughout the U.S. that has had mystery scents make a guest appearance with no known cause. Could these odors be tests by the U.S. Government, to study the paths in which they take, so as to know where a real toxic cloud would go if a dirty bomb was ever set off by terrorists? How far fetched is it for the security agencies to perform tests in real cities, so as to better prepare for a real threat? It is better to know the path that a toxic cloud would travel, so as to minimize casualties. However, if in fact, these non-toxic odors are created by our government, they could at least inform the city officials, so that the citizens could be notified prior to testing, to ease fears that is not surprisingly caused by it. If these smells are not due to government tests, then someone undesirable may be doing tests of their own. Also, not far fetched, is terror cells performing their own tests, to track the pattern that a dirty bomb would make if detonated. DRUG ARREST Mexican police have captured the country’s highest profile female drug trafficker - the notoriously nicknamed Queen of the Pacific - along with her Colombian drug boss boyfriend, aka The Tiger. Sandra Avila Beltran was arrested on Friday driving her BMW sports utility vehicle in a wealthy part of Mexico City. Juan Diego Espinosa was picked up in the same area a few hours later. The couple are allegedly important figures in the organisation of shipments of Colombian cocaine to Mexico heading for the US. Both are also wanted on drugs charges in the United States. Beltran is said to be close to Ismael ‘el Mayo’ Zambada, one of the top drug barons within the Sinaloa trafficking organisation that is headed by the legendary Joaquin ‘el Chapo’ Guzman. Her regal nickname comes from her reputed role in developing smuggling roots up the Pacific coast. Espinosa, 39, is allegedly an important figure within the Colombian Norte del Valle cartel. That group’s leader, Diego Montoya, was arrested three weeks ago in an operation hailed as the biggest blow to Colombian drug traffickers since the fall of the infamous Pablo Escobar in 1993. Mexican authorities said the investigations that finally led them to Beltran began five years ago after the seizure of nine tons of Colombian cocaine in a tuna fishing boat off the Pacific port and resort of Manzanillo. ‘This woman has been transporting Colombian cocaine into Mexico since the Nineties. She is part of a family that has been dedicated to drug trafficking for three generations,’ public safety under-secretary Patricio Patiño said. A video released to the local media by the police show the alleged Queen of the Pacific claiming to be a housewife who earns extra money selling clothes and renting houses. Beltran speaks with hesitation throughout, until asked why she is in police custody. ‘Because of an arrest warrant with a view to my extradition,’ she replies quickly with a smile.

Are Attitudes To Islam Hardening? This poll had sampled the opinions of 3,002 American adults, and found that 43% of respondents had a favorable view of Muslims, a drop of 5% from a similar poll from March 2004. In the recent poll, 35% had a negative view of Muslims, while in 2004 that figure had been 32%. Amongst religious groups, 51% of white mainstream Protestants and 48% of white Catholics had favorable views of Muslims, while only 24% of white evangelicals held favorable views. Fortunately for Muslim Americans, the respondents viewed them more favorably (53%) than they did Muslims in general. The poll also found that 58% of people said they "knew little or nothing about Islam's practices". (Alan Note: There lies the danger and Islam's insiduous strength - our ignorance of sharia law and the openly stated aim of Islamists to create a Moslem Caliphate to rule the world and IMPOSE sharia on us - similar to imposing Old Testament eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth on our modern society. Sharia laws date back UNCHANGED some 1,400 years and have no place in an enlightened, modern society) Additionally, 70% of Americans questioned thought that their religion was "very different" from Islam. In 2005, the figure for people thinking that their faith differed substantially from Islam stood at 59%. Back in 2001, 52% of people thought that Islam was different from their own faith. In 2001, 31% of people polled felt their religion had "a lot in common" with Islam, dropping to 27% in 2005 and to 19% in 2007. Politically, the most positive views on Muslims come from people who class themselves as "liberal Democrats", with 66% of these having a favorable impression of Muslims. For "conservative and moderate Democrats", as well as "independents", 48% had positive views of Muslims. Amongst Republicans, there is less favorable opinion. Of those with "moderate and liberal" outlooks 41% had positive views of Muslims, compared to only 26% of "conservative Republicans". People who knew a Muslim personally tend to have a more favorable view of Muslims in general. 56% of those who knew Muslims had a positive view, compared to 36% of people with no Muslim associates. The Pew poll, which was conducted between August 1 and August 18, shows that there appears to be a trend which views Muslims and Islam less favorably than three years ago. Other polls from Europe similarly indicate that attitudes towards Islam seem to be hardening, rather than softening. The authors of the Pew report claim that the "biggest influence on the public's impression of Muslims, particularly among those who express an unfavorable opinion of Muslims, is what people hear and read in the media. About a third of the public (32%) - including nearly half of those who offer a negative opinion of Muslims (48%) say what they have seen or read in the media has had the biggest influence on their views." The authors of the report claim that personal experience and education are less influential on people's opinions, though are more frequently cited as influential factors by those with supportive views. The "media" is a broad term. What appears to be lacking in this report is a clear breakdown of which particular aspects, in which areas of media, have made American people develop more negative attitudes. Are people being influenced by negative portrayals in dramas on TV, or by what they see in news reports? There are numerous sites on the internet which are critical of Islamism (political Islam). Are these influential in forming public opinion? If news items on Islamic terrorism are influencing people negatively, it would still be unethical journalism to stop reporting such incidents. Are media-based threats from Al Qaeda influencing public opinion? After the horrific events of 9/11, there was a backlash http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/2488829.stm against people perceived to be Muslims. The FBI claimed that hate crimes enacted upon Arabs and Muslims in the United States increased by 1,700% in 2001. There have been reports of Islamist terror plots on US soil since 9/11, but there have been no significant Islamist terror attacks in the US to explain the apparent rise in mistrust displayed in the Pew report. Findings from the recent Pew survey pose other questions. The proportion of people who view Islam as greatly different from their own faith has increased substantially. Are these people becoming more cynical, or are they understanding some of the basic tenets of Islam more clearly than they did before? One group which has maintained a high media presence in the U.S. is the Council on American Islamic Relations. (CAIR) Though highlighting cases of discrimination against Muslims, this group has been actively making the news, as in the case of the "flying imams" and more recently as an unindicted coconspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial, currently playing out in Texas. Are CAIR's attempts to highlight "Muslim issues" backfiring and adding to a growing climate of mistrust? Britain suffered a major terrorist attack in 2005, though killing significantly fewer individuals than 9/11 (52 fatalities and about 600 injuries on London Transport on July 7, 2005). When asked: "Does the presence of Muslims in your country pose a threat to national security or not?", British respondents had the highest proportion who answered in the affirmative (38%), with the US and France with the lowest proportion (21% and 20% respectively). (Alan note: Americans are too ignorant on this subject to know better, while the French simply disdain them or are the most infilitrated by them) Those who answered "no danger" were the lowest in Spain (45%) and Britain (45%), with France at the highest (68%). 58% of US respondents did not believe the presence of Muslims in their country posed a national security threat. The issue of whether Muslims were seen to have too much or too little political power in respective countries, there was great uncertainty in the US, with 49% answering "not sure', the highest of the six countries surveyed. (Blissful ignorance again?) Only 20% of Americans thought Muslims in the US had "too much" political power, and 23% thought they had "the right amount". For the British respondents, 46% said Muslims in the UK had "too much power", only 28% were "unsure" and 19% thought they had "the right amount". Respondents in the six countries were asked: "Have Muslims in your country become the subject of unjustified criticism and prejudice or not?". Here, the answers had less variation, but again Britain's attitudes appeared to be different from those in the US. 44% of Britons answered "No" compared to 30% of Americans,. 47% of Spanish respondents said "No" to this question, with France (30%) having the fewest to answer "No' to the question. The highest proportion of those who thought Muslims had suffered undue prejudice came from the French (51%) followed by Italians (49%), Americans (47%), Germans (40%) and Britain in the lowest place at 39%. Respondents were asked "Do you have any friends who are Muslim?." Social relations with Muslims were highest in France, with 69% claiming to have Muslim friends, followed by Britain (38%), Germany (37%), Italy (32%), the US (28%), and Spain the lowest at 27%. Spain appears to have the least social interaction with Muslims, with 70% of respondents claiming to have no Muslim friends, followed by Italy (67%), Germany (61%), the US (60%), Britain (55%) and France with the lowest amount answering "no" (28%). On the issue of terror attacks happening on home territories within the next 12 months, the UK had the highest proportion (52%) who believed this would happen. 32% of Spaniards thought such an attack would happen on their soil, closely followed by 30% of Americans. France, Italy and Germany responded similarly, with between 15% and 18% believing an attack would happen within 12 months in their respective countries. (With centuries of experience through having had a British Empire and dealing with a wide variety of cultures at a government level, the residual knowledge remains with the British psyche and an inkling of what sharia law means) France had the highest number who believed Islam and citizenship were compatible, closely followed by the United States. Almost 30% of Britons thought it was impossible for a Muslim to be a British citizen and a Muslim (quite correctly according to Islam which allows allegiance only to Allah, not to any State or nation). In France, (with a high enough percentage of Moslems for the tail to wag the dog) only 18% of respondents thought it was impossible for a French Muslim to be a citizen and a Muslim. (Not an opinion shared by devout Moslems themselves). http://www.expatica.com/source/site_article.asp?subchannel_id=26&story_id=30134&name=Germans+negative+on+Islam,+poll+shows In May last year a national poll was published in the German newspaper Frankfurter Allegmaine which indicated that attitudes towards Islam had worsened in the two years since 2004. 91% of respondents thought that Islam oppressed women (in 2004, the amount was 85%). 83% of Germans thought Islam was dominated by fanaticism (in 2004, the figure was 75%). 71% of Germans questioned felt Islam was intolerant, compared to 66% in 2004. 56% thought the "Clash of Civilisations" had already started. In 2004, 46% believed it had started. The German survey also asked if strict limits should be imposed upon Islam in Germany, and nearly half (40%) agreed. (Possibly based on their decades of experience with Turkish, mostly Moslem, guest workers) Germans were asked if building of mosques should be forbidden in their nation while some Islamic states refused permission for churches to be built. Again, more than half (56%) agreed. More than half (61%) of the respondents agreed that there would perpetually be "major conflict between both faiths". The pollsters concluded: "If one looks at this from a pessimistic viewpoint it could be seen as the start of a downward spiral toward conflict...The clash of civilizations has already begun in the minds of citizens." France appeared in the August Financial Times study to have the best relations with Muslims of the five European countries polled. French respondents were the least concerned if one of their offspring married a Muslim, for example. It is possible that there is a correlation with these responses and the attitudes held by French Muslims. Though using only a small sample from France's estimated 6 million Muslims, a poll study carried out on 513 respondents in August 2006 http://www.expatica.com/actual/article.asp?subchannel_id=25&story_id=33213 found some surprising attitudes of tolerance towards French secular values. The study was commissioned by La Vie, a Roman Catholic weekly. 94% of the French Muslims believed people were equal "regardless of religion". 69% said they would accept a Muslim marrying someone outside of their faith. 73% believed in the separation of Church and state, and 46% thought it was acceptable for a Muslim to convert to Christianity. Younger French Muslims aged 18 to 24 were less tolerant of Muslims converting to Christianity, with 56% opposing conversions out of Islam. 31% of this age group opposed marriage between Muslims and non-Muslims. Some of the French Muslims appeared to be rather lax in their faith: 30% never read the Koran, only 17% attended a mosque on a weekly basis, and 49% of respondents claimed that they never went to mosque. Even though 56% of younger French Muslims opposed conversions out of Islam, this is hardly comparable to the situation in Britain. A poll conducted by Populus in Britain, which was published by the Policy Exchange in January of this year found that among young British Muslims aged 16 to 24, 36% believed that a Muslim who converts to another religion should be "punished by death". One in eight young Muslims said that they admired groups such as Al Qaeda which are "prepared to fight the West". 37% of younger Muslims wanted to live under Sharia law. The attitudes of British Muslims have not been ameliorated by such policies, if polls are to be believed. The hostility to Western values expressed by Britain's Muslims was highlighted in June 2006 in a survey by Pew http://pewglobal.org/reports/display.php?ReportID=254 Global Attitudes. Amongst Muslims of all ages, 81% of British Muslims surveyed claimed to see themselves as "Muslims first", citizens second, compared to 69% of Spanish Muslims, 66% of German Muslims and only 46% of French Muslims. The left-leaning Guardian http://www.guardian.co.uk/religion/Story/0,,1804078,00.html newspaper commented on the 2006 Pew report in an article entitled "Poll shows Muslims in Britain are the most anti-Western in Europe": "The poll found that 63% of all Britons had a favourable opinion of Muslims, down slightly from 67% in 2004, suggesting last year's London bombings did not trigger a significant rise in prejudice. Attitudes in Britain were more positive than in the US, Germany and Spain (where the popularity of Muslims has plummeted to 29%), and about the same as in France. Less than a third of British non-Muslims said they viewed Muslims as violent, significantly fewer than non-Muslims in Spain (60%), Germany (52%), the US (45%) and France (41%). By contrast, the poll found that British Muslims represented a "notable exception" in Europe, with far more negative views of westerners than Islamic minorities elsewhere on the continent. A significant majority viewed western populations as selfish, arrogant, greedy and immoral. Just over half said westerners were violent. While the overwhelming majority of European Muslims said westerners were respectful of women, fewer than half British Muslims agreed." Muslims in Britain, according to this report, showed anti-Semitic attitudes. Only 32% of British Muslims had a favorable opinion of Jews, whereas 71% of French Muslims viewed Jews favorably. The June 2006 poll by Pew surveyed 14,000 individuals in 15 countries. One of the co-chairs of the study, Senator John Danforth (St Louis) said http://www.westernresistance.com/blog/archives/002399.html "It seems to me that where they (Muslims) really tilt against the West has to do with values or with lifestyle or with perceptions that the West is a place of selfishness and arrogance and violence. Where do they get that idea? Maybe on television, I don't know." It is significant that a proportion the non-Muslim respondents in the most recent Pew report are, by the authors' admission, finding that the media is fueling negative perceptions of Muslims and Islam. Perhaps a very specific poll should be carried out in the US and elsewhere to specify exactly which areas of the media are creating "negative" perceptions. Attitudes towards Muslims are becoming less trusting in the West, and in Britain, this rise in mistrust seems linked to an increase in physical attacks upon Muslims. Polls are good at indicating trends, but they are not always so clear on the issues of causality. More polls are needed, both to gauge the attitudes of Muslims to the Western countries they live in, and the attitudes of Westerners to Muslims. It is not enough to merely document deteriorating relations. The causes need to be explored more fully, and once identified, they can be addressed. Merely "blaming the media" is not enough. And while the Western media sought hidden meanings and signals for peaceful intentions in his words, the fact is that on both occasions, Ahmadinejad made absolutely clear that his vision of Islamic domination cannot coexist in any manner with Western civilization. This realization has profound implications not only for American strategy in Iraq, but also for the future of the war on terror. As Gen. Petraeus made clear, the adoption of a true counterinsurgency strategy in Iraq in January 2007 has led to unprecedented progress in the struggle against al Qaeda in Iraq, by protecting Sunni Arabs who reject the terrorists among them from the vicious retribution of those terrorists. In his address to the United Nations General Assembly Wednesday, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki also touted the effectiveness of this strategy while at the same time warning of al Qaeda in Iraq's continued threat to his government and indeed the entire region. The endless wait for the Winograd Committee report and the political capital the prime minister has received in opinion polls published in recent days - have drawn the attention of most Israelis away from the daily warfare that is taking place less than an hour from the center of the country. In recent months, the West Bank and Gaza Strip security forces have arrested hundreds of militants and foiled dozens of terrorist attacks. Only the fact that yesterday the IDF suffered its first fatality this year in the West Bank has returned the focus on what is taking place on that front.It's common to claim it is impossible to defeat terrorism. But over the years of combating Palestinian terrorism during the second intifada (this month marks the seventh anniversary), the IDF and the Shin Bet have reached the closest possible point to achieving a victory. The winning formula is a combination of aggressive intelligence gathering by the Shin Bet, the obstacle created by the separation fence and the complete freedom of operations granted to the IDF in the Palestinian cities. HUMOR IS SADISTIC TO BE LUDICROUS

Misplaced humor often elicits the frustrated comment "I don't know whether to laugh or to cry". Also humor is generally "sadistic" - in classic terms, someone slips on th eproverbial banana peel, crashed painfully to the ground and we (theoretically) laugh our heads off.

To many, Ahmadi-Nejad's Columbia visit was a sad joke but like reality in humor there was an underlying "sadistic crash" behind it.

1. Islamic Iran reportedly makes substantial donations to this university and Bollinger was faced with the choice of doing the right thing and rejecting Ahmadi-Nejad's presence and risk losing this income - or protecting his cash flow - even from a "sane lunatic" from a terrorist state.

2. Again, reports from inside Iran indicate that a deal was brokered that would ensure the release of one of the Americans imprisoned by the clerics - a Columbia alumni - if Ahmadi-Nejad were permitted to speak at Columbia.

Bollinger accepted both conditions but had a last bite at a man he clearly does not respect in his derogatory opening remarks.

SANE LUNATIC? AND MILLIONS LIKE HIM?

To understand Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's mindset and behavior require close scrutiny of the elaborate and intricate theology of Hujetieh Shiism, perhaps the most fundamentalist of the numerous Shiite sects. In the 1950s, a group of Islamic clergy led by Sheikh Mahmoud Halabi (a close associate of Ayatollah Khomeini) formed a society called the Anjoman-e Khayryyehye Hujjatiyyah-ye Mahdaviat (Charitable Society of the Mahdi), based in Mashhad, Iran. The Hujjatyyah membership was mostly composed by the bazaar-i businessmen and fanatical mullahs. Among many things, they were against the communists, Marxists, and atheists. Their overarching "raison d'être," however, was to prepare the world for the upcoming of the 12th Imam -- the Mehdi. However, the most important immediate agenda item on their list was to harass and persecute the Baha'is, a religious group representing a small percentage of Iran's population. In fact, the Hujjatiyyah-y's alternative name became "The anti-Baha'i Society" (Anjuman-e Zidd-e Baha'iyat). They collectively worked for a single purpose: the eradication of Baha'is. The terrible plight of the Baha'is in Iran is particularly heart-wrenching, since they are the largest non-Muslim population in the country and have been, from day one, severely brutalized by Muslims. Baha'i teachings of tolerance and openness to science are anathema to the Islamofascists on many levels, but the history of the faith includes direct click here challenges to the theological legitimacy of the mullahs. These slaveholders find the Baha'i faith a threat to their own version of Islam and the absolute theocratic power it puts their hands. The egomaniac President Ahmadinejad is a member of Hujjatiyyah. He sees himself as the personal vassal of the Mahdi-Messiah or Hidden Imam, with whom he has fantasized tête-à-têtes frequently. Ahmadinejad, a man driven by his religion, has a spiritual advisor in Ayatollah Mohammad Taghi Mesbah-Yazdi (the defacto leader of the Hojatieh). The President's advisor is known for his extremist views on Islam and promotes suicide bombings and attacks on civilians in the West. There is only view of Islam for him. He once said, "...if anyone tells you their own interpretation of Islam, punch them in the mouth!" President Ahmedinejad has in a short time acquired great many descriptors at home and overseas: zealot, fascist, fanatic, anti-Semitic, lunatic and more. One prominent Western columnist called him "unhinged." But we cannot just dismiss the man as an aberration, someone who is in urgent need of psychological help, a person out of touch with reality, who represents nothing of substance. Once again the West is misreading and misjudging people and events in the Middle East, due to the fact that it views things through its own prism. Looking at the man through Western spectacles, he indeed appears to be all of the above and more. Yet Ahmadinejad is far from unhinged. As a matter of fact he is firmly hinged to a set of beliefs that dictate his views of the world, and inform him how he should deal with it from his position of power. An unhinged man has the potential of becoming once again hinged. But, there is very little that can be done to a person who is inseparably hinged, and Ahmadinejad views are firmly rooted in the most orthodox philosophy of Shiism. For our purposes, however, it is sufficient to document the fact that Ahmadinejad is not mentally disturbed; there is no display of contradictory thoughts and behavior. There is a full internal consistency in Ahmadinejad. Ahmadinejad's words, deeds and beliefs show a fully hinged person. Below are a few examples of his sayings, beliefs and actions. Whether one agrees or disagrees with them, they all fit perfectly into a consistent pattern. ▪ He literally believes in the imminent emergence of the Mahdi - the Shiites' promised one who is expected to appear to set aright a decadent and wretched world. ▪ He views himself as the vassal of Mahdi, working for him and being accountable to him. ▪ His main task is to prepare the world so to hasten the Mahdi's coming. If this preparation requires much destruction and bloodshed, so be it. ▪ As a former mayor of Tehran, he developed elaborate detailed plans preparing the city for the arrival of the Mahdi. ▪ He allocated generous sums for extensive road improvement to a mosque at Jamkaaraan near the city of Qum where it is believed the promised Mahdi is hiding in a well since the age of nine, over 1100 years ago. ▪ He reportedly visits the well frequently and drops his written supplications into the well for the hidden Mahdi to act upon them. ▪ He has said in private that it was he who asked the Mahdi to inflict the massive stroke on Ariel Sharon. ▪ He sees the Jews as the sworn enemies of Islam. The hostility dates back to the time of Muhammad's own treatment of the Jews in Medina. At first, expediently, Muhammad called the Jews "people of the book," and accorded them a measure of tolerance until he gained enough power to unleash his devastating wrath on them. ▪ He says that the Holocaust is a myth. He is, in this respect, in good company with a number of other revisionist fanatics. ▪ He wants Israel to be wiped out of the map or transferred to Europe. ▪ In his speech at the UN general assembly, he implored the Mahdi to come and save the world. He claimed that during his speech of some twenty odd minutes, a powerful light enveloped him and all participants were held transfixed, unable to move their eyes. ▪ He believes that the earth is Allah's and all people must either become believers of his brand of Islam or must perish as infidels najis (unclean) who by their very presence defile Allah's earth. ▪ He believes that this earthly life is passing and worthless in comparison to the afterlife awaiting a devoted and faithful believer. Hence, he holds to the old belief that if a faithful kills an infidel, he goes to Allah's paradise; and, if the faithful gets killed in the process of serving the faith, again he goes to Allah's paradise. Hence, it is a win-win proposition for the faithful. Ahmadinejad is a true devoted Muslim. Being unpredictable, self-contradictory and inconsistent are major symptoms of the mentally unhinged. By these standards of insanity, Ahmadinejad emerges as completely sane. He is fully predictable, consistent and has shown no self-contradiction. He does not even pretend that he misspoke or apologize for his outrageous statements. He is not a typical politician who practices the devious art of doublespeak, deception and change of position to suit his immediate convenience. He knows who he is, what he believes, and what his own mission in life is: serving as the instrument for the revered Mahdi. Allah will make him emerge from the well as soon as the world's conditions hit absolute hopeless bottom. Ahmadinejad sees himself as a driver who can play a critical role in doing just that, driving the world to the very bottom. And he plans on having an arsenal of nuclear weapons as soon as possible.There is nothing really "unhinged" about Ahamadinejad's thinking, statements and actions. They are internally consistent. He is simply a fanatic who is wedded to an extremely dangerous exclusionary system of belief. Humanity must learn that dismissing him as a lunatic will result in great suffering, as it did with Hitler. Tragically, Ahmadinejad is the embodiment of several million people who are hinged exactly like him and who are willing to give their lives, and take with them as many lives as required in the service of their belief. In this age of Weapons of Mass Destruction a man with huge sums of petrodollars can serve as the catalyst of total annihilation. Prudence would err on the side of being an alarmist than a complacent dismissive. Ahmadinejad and his ilk are not interested in any negotiation, any compromise or any live-and-let-live final solution. They are determined to be the soldiers of Mahdi come-what-may. They have no problem with the total destruction of the world. They are headed for a life of eternal bliss in Allah's paradise. They hardly care, even rejoice, if the rest of humanity is subjected to a tragic death in the nuclear, biological and chemical wasteland of planet earth. Humanity cannot afford and must not ignore the emergence of the final threat to its very existence on this planet. Comparatively recently, the so-called "police" thugs with absolute immunity from reprimand or punishment for maiming and killing anyone, have had some $520 million spent on equipping and training them to ruthessly put down any anti-regime demonstrations. Or even a simple protest gathering.

The brandished weapon shown in the Islamic regime "police" photo is a variation on a long standing use of tire irons normally used to remove old or punctured auto tyres from wheel rims. These flat and heavy "double use" tools shattered inumerable limbs and heads during the pre-Ahmadi-Nejad administrations. Now with his total focus on control and a newfound liberation of the Bassiji to arrest anyone, they felt free to use a sharpened version of the tire iron, even making a wooden handle for it. Note the blood drain holes to facilitate slicing and extraction from a deep wound. Just like good kitchen knives. And the notch to prevent blood flowing back down to the handle. Repeated and gang rape as part of punishment of female prisoners during their incarceration is encouraged by Ahmadi-Nejad and his administration to terrify anyone who might wish to oppose him.

Raping the women also puts a deep fear into their menfolk and forces them to hesitate before any opposition action knowing retribution would descend mercilessly n their loved women.

Both illustrate the simple nutjob who drew up plans to move 20 million Iranians from villages to a dozen HUGE new cities to save on cost of providing water, electricity, phones and other infra-structure.

As any city planner with half a brain would testify this is a lunatic approach to urban structure - causing enormous problems with sewage disposal, air quality, transportation considerations, job provision for this imported population, etc.

But then he could not care less and simply arrests and tortures anyone who disagrees with him and if they die under the abuse, so much the better. One less opponent or dissident with whom to deal! He does not pay factory workers anyway so why would not providing jobs bother him?

Do nearly 500,000 homeless, parentless, vulnerable children just in Tehran streets alone bother him? Does he spend any fraction of the hundreds of BILLIONS he gives to Syria, Hamas and Hezbollah to provide for them? No.

Or the tens of thousands of abandoned women, also jobless and vulnerable on the same streets? No.

On the contrary he manages to arrest 140,000 women for improper Islamic dress code - in the space of - THREE DAYS! Why care when he can terrify them into submission and silence?

Shame on all those who condone his existence and appease him, as they did the Hitler before him.

Not at a perfect height but enough to cripple New York city and all this would mean. "It's unlikely that uranium enrichment ... which takes place in Natanz, will be resumed, but it's likely that some activities at Isfahan Uranium Conversion Facility will restart next week," Rowhani said today. The central cities of Natanz and Isfahan house the heart of Iran's nuclear program. The Isfahan conversion facility reprocesses uranium ore concentrate into gas, which is then taken to Natanz and fed into the centrifuges for enrichment. "Iran's Shahab-3 medium range missile mentioned earlier is a mobile missile and small enough to be transported in the hold of a freighter. We cannot rule out that Iran, the world's leading sponsor of international terrorism might provide terrorists with the means to executive an EMP attack against the United States." Lowell Wood, acting chairman of the commission, said yesterday that such an attack � by Iran or some other actor � could cripple the U.S. by knocking out electrical power, computers, circuit boards controlling most automobiles and trucks, banking systems, communications and food and water supplies. "No one can say just how long systems would be down," he said. "It could be weeks, months or even years." EMP attacks are generated when a nuclear weapon is detonated at altitudes above a few dozen kilometers above the Earth's surface. The explosion, of even a small nuclear warhead, would produce a set of electromagnetic pulses that interact with the Earth's atmosphere and the Earth's magnetic field. "These electromagnetic pulses propagate from the burst point of the nuclear weapon to the line of sight on the Earth's horizon, potentially covering a vast geographic region in doing so simultaneously, moreover, at the speed of light," said Wood. The commission, in its work over a period of several years, found that EMP is one of a small number of threats that has the potential to hold American society seriously at risk and that might also result in the defeat of U.S. military forces. "The electromagnetic field pulses produced by weapons designed and deployed with the intent to produce EMP have a high likelihood of damaging electrical power systems, electronics and information systems upon which any reasonably advanced society, most specifically including our own, depend vitally," Wood said. "Their effects on systems and infrastructures dependent on electricity and electronics could be sufficiently ruinous as to qualify as catastrophic to the American nation." Ms. Boxer labeled Khamenei's remarks "benign at worst" and went on to say that they "were so vague as to be applicable to almost anything." The President has not released an official response to Ali Khamenei's threats, but sources close to Mr. Bush say that he has been "mumbling something about a 'good old-fashioned Texas a**-whuppin' all weekend."
