TRUTH BEHIND CIA COUP AGAINST MOSSADEGH

Dr. Mossadegh, who was a Prime Minister under the Shah and then turned on the monarch, is shown here making "nice" with a military official.

"Mossyface", as he was often called in the West, presented by his followers as a patriotic nationalist, who nationalized Iranian oil for the best interests of Iran, became in actuality a Communist shill, who was in the process of handing Iran and the oil confiscated from the British and West, to the Soviets.

The CIA organized coup to remove him and restore the Shah to the throne has been criticized as an intrusion into the national interests of the people of Iran and removal of a popular hero.

In fact, Mossadegh was "popular" only with the Iranian Communists and Socialists, whose activities initially encouraged him to stand-up to the pro-West Shah and whose incitement brought people to the streets.

The Khomeini take over was an almost twin replay. The same Communist (Tudeh Party) and Islamist Marxists like the Fedayeen and Mojaheddin brought into being mainly by the Soviets, started the revolution and had it snatched from their lips by the clerics.

Simplistically, when the organized government of the Shah fell, the only national network left was the chain of mosques that existed everywhere throughout the country and which started to organize clerically controlled neighborhood committees.

The clerics started imprisoning and killing almost immediately and took over the lives of Iranians at every street level point. Including those of the Islamist Marxists, who found themselves considered the enemy, not a partner.

As shown in Farsi below the lovey-dovey photo, the CIA was interested in the removal of the Mossadegh conduit for a Soviet take over of Iran, which would have given them a path into the warm waters of Southern Iran they have always wanted and the oil resources found in Iran.

Translation: in most of the existing research relative to the fall of the Dr. Mossadegh's government, the true name of the planned CIA operation and the main aim of it has been incompletely called AJAX though in reality it has TP as the preface, referring to the Tudeh (Communist) Party and is TPAJAX with the focus of the operation being the house cleaning to be done to eradicate the Tudeh political party from inside Iran.

The Western world was far less concerned about restoring the still very young Shah than in confronting the incursion of the Soviets. The Shah, whose monarchy was pro-West was the most convenient way to retain presence in Iran,

It was not till much later that a much older and wiser Shah turned the tables and took control of Iranian oil.

Till he accomplished that, Iran did not have a say in how much oil it could pump from their wells nor at what price it could be sold. The Western oil companies who operated the fields dictated these terms.

The Shah could not plan national development projects as he did not know from year to year what he would be allowed to produce and how much revenue he would obtain.

Mossadegh's natonalization at no time resolved the same problem - other that he would be under Soviet instead of Western control.

What is little known is that the Shah had to put on an Oscar winning performance to finally get contrl of Iran's oil.

Each time he had tried he was turned down and did not have the political international status yet, nor the technological capability in the oil industry to force the matter.

One day, after much thought, he summoned the Western oil consortium and told them the Soviets had insisted on equal rights to prospect for oil in Iran on a par with the Western companies.

The Western companies told him to say "no". To which he responded Iran had some 2,000 kilometers of common border with the Soviet Union and they could easily cross over if they were not appeased. Something they had indicated they might be willing to do.

He added, however, that the main Soviet argument was that the Western countries "owned" the oil and that the Shah was discriminating against the Soviets by not permitting Soviets to wander around Iran to explore for oil.

The idea of Soviets all over Iran horrified the Western countries and they asked what the solution might be.

The Shah replied that if Iran totally "owned" and controlled its own oil, he could then allocate exploration as he desired and could then do so based on bids and technological ability (where the Soviets were very weak) and thus not be in a position to be accused of discrimination.

Faced with this situation, the Western oil companies signed over their control and share of Iranian oil to Iran.

To those around the Shah it was never quite clear whether he had used this as a ruse to get back Iran's oil or even if the Soviets had in fact spoken to him at all.

A good friend of mine sent me an Email bemoaning the loss of the democracy in Pakistan Bhutto would have brought - now she was dead. - Here is my response, intended to also address all those who base their opinions on the drive-by Mass Media disinformation. Or the wishful naivete of the State Department, or CIA (better named CYA - cover your ass) comments that Musharraf has lost all credibility (with them). They have never had to deal personally with deadly Islamists in their careers, so expect Musharraf or anyone else they designate, to be able to function in that terrorist environment the same way they do in their corporate structures. Even their new "horse" in the race, the new Army chief, who was trained in the USA and was part of Bhutto's cabinet when she was Prime Minister cannot do anything better than Musharraf and survive the activities of the Islamists. Musharraf has taken American money and still kept open channels to the Taleban and Islamists. Letting them function almost unchecked. But do we really understand his choices and options? In PRACTICAL terms not wishful fantasy of someone waving a wand inside Pakistan and making everything well or even better. BECAUSE it is a PIPE dream that “democracy” can find root in Pakistan – no matter who tries to bring it. Anymore than it could take root and grow in Mullah controlled Iran while they are in charge. Naïve to think otherwise – and most of the world – including Iranians I know here – have so little knowledge of Islam that they fail to assess/analyze reality and go on pure “hope”, sorry, “hopeless” wishful thinking - far removed from reality. Out of SEVEN designated regions of Pakistan, FOUR are totally controlled by the Taleban – vicious Islamists. (With Al Qaeda woven in). And Democracy is counter to the Koran and Islamic teachings – as the only permitted loyalty/fealty is to Allah and only Allah - and they will kill to enforce their Koranic Islam. And enforce the sharia (religious) law – which also is at odds with democracy or even a semblance of it. So, dear friend, you and most of the world - mostly from insufficient knowledge and being good people wish things to happen that cannot. Certainly for now. In fact the Pakistan assassination may well be the final straw in our war on terrorism. We either have to ignore the Afghan-Pakistan border and let NATO and our troops go after the Al Qaeda/Taleban terrorists, who hide all the way up and down it ON BOTH SIDES AND/OR bomb Iran to smithereens to snuff out an increasingly restless Persian Gulf. Like putting out an oil well fire. Shia militants are already causing street level trouble in Bahrain and inside Sunni Saudi Arabia. The Taleban "insubordination" or lethal disregard for authority in Pakistan serves to incite others of like mind all around the world. The mass Media, intent on concealing or denying the need for military solutions (and our successes) does not report much of it. The Gulf States are caught between a rock an a hard place with their money in the West and under Western pressure to resist and a death and destruction threat from Iran close to them and their oil fields. You cannot wish something like democracy into being, good friend. Bhutto was SADLY a vain, useless "wish". Too many ruthless enemies, too much negative history, including corruption accusations, to have a clear road to anything. Another accusation placed at her doorstep was that during her time as Prime Minister she allowed (some say encouraged) the Mojaheddin, who later became the Taleban, to operate freely. The worst is that we did not learn our lesson with Carter backing the Khomeini revolution against the Shah in the name of democracy and we are repeating the mistake idiotically with Musharraf. Only this time we are dealing with a country that has ONE HUNDRED NUCLEAR WEAPONS! Which if we help "depose" Musharraf and destabilize the military (who are in charge of the nukes) we risk placing lots of them into the hands of the terrorist Taleban/Al Qaeda. Since much of the Pakistani Intelligence/Security sympathize with the militant Islamists and would rejoice if nukes were used against the “kafir swine” – that’s us, the agencies designated to protect against terrorism fan the flames of it and lend them their support. . Try talking to me before you conclude matters based on a purely “inside America” eye and mindset based on what you read in the “drive-by” mass media. Or have experienced in an American political environment. Something far removed from Pakistan's playing field With possible world disaster now unleashed by the Islamists showing their strength and encouraging other militants in the Persian Gulf, the Mullahs in Iran, the Taleban inside Afghanistan, even Hamas and Hezbollah, do we really think that Hillary Klintoon, the anti-military candidate can lead us? The Iraqi Army claimed to have captured the minister of defense of the Islamic State of Iraq, al Qaeda’s political front organization. Ahmed Turki Abbas was captured after being wounded in a skirmish near Mahmudiyah and “claimed the rank of defense minister,” Qassim al Moussawi, Iraq's military spokesman told Reuters.

Confirmation on the arrest of Abbas, which is also likely a nom de guerre, has not been given by Multinational Forces Iraq at this time. The Iraqi government has made claims of killing and capturing Abu Omar al Baghdadi several times this year, which turned out to be false reports or cases of mistaken identity.

Abu Ayyub al Masri, the leader of al Qaeda in Iraq, is officially listed as the minister of defense for the Islamic State of Iraq, according to a press release put out by the terror group in April.

But over the summer, it became known the Islamic State of Iraq was the invention of al Masri, who serves as the emir, or leader of the group. Abu Omar al Baghdadi is actually a fictional character played by an Iraqi actor named Abu Abdullah al Naima. This information was revealed after the captured of Abu Muhammad al Mashadani, the former Minister of Information for the Islamic State of Iraq.

With al Masri serving as the emir of both the Islamic State of Iraq and al Qaeda in Iraq, the portfolio of defense minister was delegated to Abbas, a senior US military intelligence official told The Long War Journal.

After learning of the arrest of Abbas, Marvin Hutchens of ThreatsWatch.org agreed with that assessment. “For purely pragmatic reasons, Al Qaeda in Iraq and the Islamic State of Iraq need as many Iraqi names in leadership posts as possible,” said Hutchens in an interview.

“They are selling their legitimacy as the Iraqi state and having al Masri known as the Minister of Defense hides his real role as the foreign leader of an illegitimate insurgent state.”

If Abbas’ capture is confirmed, he would be the third member of the cabinet of the Islamic State to be captured or killed this year. Muharib Abdul Latif al Jabouri, the Minister of Public Relations, was killed during a major battle between the Anbar Awakening and al Qaeda in the town of Dhuluiya in neighboring Salahadin province last May.

BAGHDAD — Coalition forces killed 12 terrorists, detained 37 suspects and freed one hostage during a multi-day operation Dec. 22 to 25 to disrupt al-Qaida networks near Muqdadiyah in the Diyala River Valley.

Coalition forces returned to an area where recent operations indicated an al-Qaida in Iraq (AQI) network was operating. A recent operation resulted in the discovery of nine weapons caches, mass graves and a torture complex.

During the four-day operation, Coalition forces were involved in multiple engagements with groups of armed men, resulting in 12 terrorists killed and 37 suspects detained.

On Sunday, a local citizen led the ground force to what they assessed to be a terrorist medical facility, complete with surgical equipment, numerous medical supplies and medication. Also in the compound, Coalition forces discovered ammunition, maps of the area, and a set of instructions on making improvised explosive devices (IED).

During operations Monday, Coalition forces discovered an AQI suicide-bomb making facility with numerous bomb-making materials inside. As the ground force cleared the building, they found a man held captive in a locked room, who appeared to have been beaten.

The individual told Coalition forces he was kidnapped a few days prior, beaten, handcuffed and blindfolded. The man was treated on site and transported to a military medical facility for further care. Once able, the individual will be turned over to Iraqi officials for repatriation.

Over the course of the multi-day operation, Coalition forces discovered several hide sites where terrorists allegedly conducted attacks. One of the sites was assessed to be a firing point for IED attacks.

At that location, the ground force discovered a structure with various wires leading from a lookout hole to a nearby road intersection.

While clearing areas Monday and Tuesday, the ground force discovered two buildings assessed to be rigged with explosives. Coalition forces safely destroyed the buildings to prevent any injury to Iraqis in the area or damage to their property.

Secondary explosions erupted from both buildings, indicating explosives were likely inside. Five additional buildings and a water tower used as a terrorist sniper position were destroyed during the operation to prevent future use for terrorist activities.

Coalition forces also located and destroyed eight weapons caches, which included machine guns, a sniper rifle, pistols, rocket propelled grenade rounds and propellant, ammunition, grenades, detonation cord and several bags of homemade explosives.

“Al Qaida has become synonymous with assassinations, torture, car bombings and executions,” said Colonel Don Bacon, MNF-I spokesman. “Iraqi citizens are rejecting the radical ideology and barbaric behavior that is foreign to their nation.”

11. He will kill the Antichrist and his followers made up largely of Jews and women.

12. He will remain on the earth for roughly forty years, during which time he will marry, have children and then die.

As we have clearly seen, the Muslim Jesus, in both his nature and actions is far different than the biblical Jesus.

Rather than coming to reign as King and Messiah over all the earth from Jerusalem, Jesus instead comes to convert the world to Islam or kill those who refuse to do so.

Instead of coming to save and deliver faithful Christians and Jews, he comes instead to kill and slaughter them.

Two young gay men recently hanged for "other" charges, including "thuggery". They were condemend to death while in their mid-teens and imprisoned till they reached 18 - then hanged to "appease" the West.

According to the Islamic regime, "thugs" = anyone disobeying the regime, being gay, being openly displeased with the Mullah regime, protesting (even peacefully) the total lack of human rights, having political beliefs of any kind except Mullocracy, asking for social freedoms, being a Moslem of a different denomination, such as a Sunni, Bahai or Sufi. Or God forbid, being a Christian or Jew. Having Western style haircuts, wearing disapproved Western clothes, etc., etc., etc.


Please note the clothes on the five executed men . Four of them are wearing the baggy pants of local tribal people, some of whom in that region are Sunnis and many of them traditionally fierce fighters and inclined to live an independent life.

Intent - beyond lascivious pleasure for the jailers - is to scare them into not doing anything, no matter how insignificant, to avoid another arrest AND to insult their menfolk and terrify them into submission to protect their women.


The photo of five men hanging is quite modest by Islamic Iran standards where they have had "L" or "U" shaped, light tables set up and as many as 16 men stood on them with a noose around their necks. The tables are then pulled from under them by guards at either end.

The judge who condemned her personally placed the noose on her and gave the treacherous signal she was not expecting, to string her up.

He wanted her dead so that nobody could prove she was really only 14-years old not 16, as he had claimed in his legal presentation, to inflict the death sentence. Her body disappeared shortly afterward. So did he.

Hard to maintain a happy Xmas spirit when all this happens in the name of religion, even though it is a religion of body pieces, not of Christian peace and kindness.

PILOT'S COMMENTS:

I flew 4 Presidential support missions in the ns;-141 out of Dover AFB, DE.. Two for President Johnson and two for President Nixon.

Johnson was a first class jerk and on the two occasions I flew for him, if the Secret Service and their Liaison in the Pentagon hadn't intervened, we would have had to stay on the airplane for hours while he (Johnson) was off somewhere. Nixon never required that and the four (4) stops we made with him he was cordial to the Secret Service and to me and my crew.

We had a neighbor when I lived in DC who was part of the secret service presidential detail for many years. His stories of Kennedy and Johnson were the same as those I heard from the guys who flew the presidents' plane.


Yes, Kennedy did have Marilyn Monroe flown in for secret "dates," and LBJ was a typical Texas "good ole boy" womanizer. Nixon, Bush 41, and Carter never cheated on their wives.

Clinton cheated, but couldn't match Kennedy or LBJ in style or variety.

The information below is accurate: The elder Bush and current president Bush make it a point to thank and take care of the air crews who fly them around. When the president flies, there are several planes that also go, one carries the armored limo, another the security detail, plus usually a press aircraft.

Both Bushes made it a point to stay home on holidays, so the Air Force and security people could have a day with their families.


Hillary Clinton was arrogant and orally abusive to her security detail. She forbade her daughter, Chelsea, from exchanging pleasantries with them. Sometimes Chelsea, miffed at her mother's obvious conceit and mean spiritedness, ignored her demands and exchanged pleasantries regardless, but never in her mother's presence.

Chelsea really was a nice, kindhearted, and lovely young lady.


The consensus opinion was that Chelsea loved her Mom but did not like her. Hillary Clinton was continuously rude and abrasive to those who were charged to protect her life. Her security detail dutifully did their job, as professionals should, but they all loathed her and wanted to be on a different detail.

Hillary Clinton was despised by the Secret Service as a whole. Former President Bill Clinton was much more amiable than his wife. Often the Secret Service would cringe at the verbal attacks Hillary would use against her husband.


They were embarrassed for his sake by the manner and frequency in which she verbally insulted him, sometimes in the presence of the Secret Service, and sometimes behind closed doors.


Even behind closed doors Hillary Clinton would scream and holler so loudly that everyone could hear what she was saying. Many felt sorry for President Clinton and most wondered why he tolerated it instead of just divorcing his "attack dog" wife.

It was crystal clear that the Clintons neither liked nor respected each other and this was true long before the Monica Lewinsky scandal.Theirs was genuinely a "marriage of convenience."

Chelsea was much closer to her father than her mother, even after the Lewinsky scandal, which hurt her gravely. Bill Clinton did in fact have charisma, and occasionally would smile at or shake hands with his security detail. Still, he always displayed an obvious air of superiority towards them.

His security detail uniformly believed him to be disingenuous, false, and that he did nothing without a motive that in some way would enhance his image and political career.

He was polite, but not kind. They did not particularly like him and nobody trusted him.

Al Gore was the male version of Hillary Clinton.

They were friendlier toward each other than either of them were towards former President Clinton. They were not intimate, so please don't read that in. They were very close in a political way.

Tipper Gore was generally nice and pleasant. She initially liked Hillary but soon after the election she had her "pegged" and no longer liked her or associated with her except for events that were politically obligatory.

Al Gore was far more left wing than Bill Clinton. Al Gore resented Bill Clinton and thought he was too "centrist." He despised all Republicans.

His hatred was bitter and this was long before he announced for the Presidency. This hatred was something that he and Hillary had in common. They often said as much, even in the presence of their security detail. Neither of them trusted Bill Clinton and, the Secret Service opined, neither of them even liked him.


Bill Clinton did have some good qualities, whereas Al Gore and Hillary had none, in the view of their security details.

Al Gore, like Hillary, was very rude and arrogant toward his security detail. He was extremely unappreciative and would not hesitate to scold them in the presence of their peers for minor details over which they had no control.

Al Gore also looked down on them, as they finally observed and learned with certainty on one occasion. Al got angry at his offspring and pointed at his security detail and said, "Do you want to grow up and be like them?"

Word of this insult by the former Vice-President quickly spread and he became as disliked by the Secret Service as Hillary.


Most of them prayed Al Gore would not be elected President, and they really did have private celebrations in a few of their homes after President Bush won. This was not necessarily to celebrate President Bush's election, but to celebrate Al G ore's defeat.

Everyone in the Secret Service wants to be on First Lady Laura Bush's detail. Without exception, they concede that she is perhaps the nicest and most kind person they have ever had the privilege of serving.

Where Hillary patently refused to allow her picture to be taken with her security detail, Laura Bush doesn't even have to be asked, she offers.


She doesn't just shake their hand and say, "Thank you."


Very often, she will give members of her detail a kindhearted hug to express her appreciation. There is nothing false about her.

This is her genuine nature. Her security detail considers her to be a "breath of fresh air."


They joke that comparing Laura Bush with Hillary Clinton is like comparing "Mother Teresa" with the "Wicked Witch of the North."



Likewise, the Secret Service considers President Bush to be a gem of a man to work for. He always treats them with genuine respect and he always trusts and listens to their expert advice.


They really like the Crawford, Texas detail. Every time the president goes to Crawford he has a Bar-B-Q for his security detail and he helps serve their meals. He sits with them, eats with them, and talks with them. He knows each of them by their first name, and calls them by their first name as a show of affection. He always asks about their family, the names of which he always remembers.

They believe that he is deeply and genuinely appreciative of their service. They could not like, love, or respect anyone more than President Bush.

Most of them did not know they would feel this way, until they had an opportunity to work for him and learn that his manner was genuine and consistent. It has never changed since he began his Presidency. He always treats them with the utmost respect, kindness, and compassion.

China Taps into NSA Spy Operations by Bill Gertz China's intelligence service gained access to a secret National Security Agency listening post in Hawaii through a Chinese-language translation service, according to U.S. intelligence officials. The spy penetration was discovered several years ago as part of a major counterintelligence probe by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) that revealed an extensive program by China's spy service to steal codes and other electronic intelligence secrets, and to recruit military and civilian personnel with access to them. According to officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity, China's Ministry of State Security, the main civilian spy service, carried out the operations by setting up a Chinese translation service in Hawaii that represented itself as a U.S.-origin company. The ruse led to classified contracts with the Navy and NSA to translate some of the hundreds of thousands of intercepted communications gathered by NSA's network of listening posts, aircraft and ships. NCIS agents discovered that the translation service, which officials did not identify by name, had conducted contract work for the National Security Agency facility at Kunia, an underground electronic intelligence post some 15 miles northwest of Honolulu that conducts some of the U.S. intelligence community's most sensitive work. Kunia is both a processing center and a collection point for large amounts of Chinese- and other Asian-language communications, which are translated and used in classified intelligence reports on military and political developments. Naval intelligence officials familiar with the Chinese spy penetration said the access to both 'raw' and analyzed intelligence at Kunia caused significant damage by giving China's government details on both the targets and the sources of U.S. spying operations. Such information would permit the Chinese to block the eavesdropping or to provide false and misleading 'disinformation' to U.S. intelligence. The officials did not say how long the Chinese operation lasted before being detected. NCIS also discovered a major Chinese intelligence operation that sought to recruit Chinese Americans as spies, and to recruit Navy and civilian intelligence workers with access to Kunia's secrets. According to the officials, China's program to recruit intelligence workers was discovered in 2005 after a Navy cryptographic technician was caught accepting a no-cost visit to China, paid for by Beijing's government. The case led to an NCIS probe that discovered other intelligence personnel, many of them nearing the ends of their careers, who were targeted by Chinese intelligence for recruitment. The ethnic recruitment effort involved similar tactics. China's intelligence service used intelligence officers and supporters to identify Chinese Americans with access to secrets who would be approached and offered free visits to China, often to meet relatives. The Chinese would then use the visit to attempt to recruit the Americans as spies. Chinese-American ethnic groups in the past have denounced the U.S. government for singling out Asian Americans as spy targets, accusing counterintelligence officials of racism. But the Chinese recruitment program shows that Beijing actively seeks to develop spies through such ethnic targeting. NSA and NCIS spokesmen declined to comment when asked about the Chinese intelligence-gathering operations in Hawaii. I.C. Smith, a former FBI special agent, said both China's civilian MSS and military spy service, known as '2 PLA' for the Second Department of the Chinese military, are targeting NSA. 'There can be no higher target for an intelligence service, and that includes China's MSS and 2 PLA, than gaining access to an adversaries' codes and electronic intelligence,' he said, because it is the ultimate in 'foreknowledge' advocated by ancient Chinese strategist Sun Tzu. Getting U.S. electronic intelligence and codes would give China specific information on what is known and allow Beijing to take defensive measures 'based on knowledge, not supposition,' Mr. Smith said, adding that 'it also allows for disinformation to be done with confidence and it basically gives the intelligence service every advantage over the enemy.' The NSA Hawaii operations center employs several thousand people and was recently expanded at a cost of more than $350 million. An NSA press release in August stated the expansion is 'one facet of the agency's efforts to evolve a global cryptologic enterprise that is resilient, agile and effective in prosecuting a dynamic threat environment.' The facility was singled out for criticism in the past by intelligence reform advocates because of its restrictive policies on information-sharing.

Malaysian Catholic weekly told to drop use of 'Allah' in order to renew publishing permit KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia: A Catholic weekly newspaper in Malaysia has been told to drop the use of the word "Allah" in its Malay language section if it wants to renew its publishing permit, a senior government official said Friday. The Herald, the organ of Malaysia's Catholic Church, has translated the word God as "Allah" but it is erroneous because Allah refers to the Muslim God, said Che Din Yusoff, a senior official at the Internal Security Ministry's publications control unit. "Christians cannot use the word Allah. It is only applicable to Muslims. Allah is only for the Muslim god. This is a design to confuse the Muslim people," Che Din told The Associated Press. The weekly should instead, use the word "Tuhan" which is the general term for God, he said. (snip) "This is not something new. The word Allah has been used in Malaysia for a long time. There is no confusion," he said. (snip) Publishers in Malaysia are required to obtain annual permits from authorities under a printing law that has long been criticized by rights groups as infringing press freedoms. (snip) Che Din said Christians don't use the word Allah when they worship in English, so they shouldn't use it in the Malay language too. There are four Malay words that must not be used by other religions, he said: Allah for God, "solat" for prayers, "kaabah" for the place of Muslim worship in Mecca and "baitula" the house of Allah. The Herald's permit will only be renewed if they stop using Allah in their publication, he stressed.

ARMY REALIGNMENT APPROVED

December 20, 2007-- President Approves Realignment of the Army -- By THOM SHANKER--WASHINGTON — President Bush has approved what officials are describing as the most significant realignment of the Army since World War II, signing off on a plan that will keep more troops than previously envisioned in Europe and add large numbers of soldiers to bases in Colorado, Georgia and Texas, Army officials said Wednesday.---- The basing plan is the final step in a detailed program for deciding where a larger Army will live and train in the years ahead, as it grows by 65,000 active-duty soldiers. It significantly changes the military’s footprint from before the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, and alters a global basing plan adopted with great fanfare by the Pentagon in 2004.---- The revised plan freezes previous orders for rapidly reducing Army forces in Europe by two heavy brigades scheduled to come home from Germany at least two years sooner than under the new program. Now, one brigade will remain in Germany until 2012 and the other until 2013.---- Even after the return of those two brigades to the United States, two brigades will remain in Europe, one in Germany and one in Italy, along with a large contingent of service and support personnel. Altogether, the Army will maintain more than 37,000 troops on the continent. ---- The commitment to keep about 10,000 extra troops in Europe above the level of previous plans was advocated as necessary to sustain training and other exercises with foreign militaries, and as a hedge against risks to American security.---- The full basing plan for the United States, Europe and South Korea was presented to Mr. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney in the Oval Office on Monday by Gen. Richard Cody, the Army vice chief of staff, and Pete Geren, the Army secretary. It was driven by the president’s approval to expand the Army by 74,000, including the Reserves, to meet the needs in Iraq and Afghanistan and to prepare for future threats.---- Army and Pentagon officials involved in the plan made no secret that some members of Congress had weighed in heavily to secure additional forces in their states, and to assure that the plan to hold off for several years the return of two brigades from Germany would not diminish the eventual level of forces to be based in their areas.---- Fort Carson, Colo.; Fort Stewart, Ga.; and Fort Bliss, Tex., will each receive two additional combat brigades. Additional support brigades will be based at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; Fort Bliss and Fort Hood, Tex.; Fort Lewis, Wash.; and Fort Polk, La.---- The Army is undergoing the largest transformational change since 1942,” General Cody said, as a full one-third of the Army will be based at different stations by 2011.---- The active-duty Army end-strength is scheduled to reach 547,000 by then, as the Army’s fighting force will grow to 48 brigade combat teams from 33 in 2003.---- New construction for housing, headquarters and motor pools — as well as health care and child care centers — will top $66.4 billion by 2013, General Cody said, emphasizing that the Army was paying special attention to quality-of-life issues for the all-volunteer force. He said that under the new plan, combat brigades would live alongside and train with the support, sustainment and intelligence units with which they would go to war.---- One compelling argument for keeping more troops in Germany longer than previously planned is that their new housing was not yet ready at bases in the United States. Therefore, Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates decided on holding troops and families in Europe until they could move directly into their final residences.---- “It would have cost millions of additional dollars to build temporary housing to get those two brigades back as originally scheduled,” said Geoff Morrell, the Pentagon press secretary.--

THE Lakota Indians, who gave the world legendary warriors Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse, have withdrawn from treaties with the US. "We are no longer citizens of the United States of America and all those who live in the five-state area that encompasses our country are free to join us,'' long-time Indian rights activist Russell Means said. A delegation of Lakota leaders has delivered a message to the State Department, and said they were unilaterally withdrawing from treaties they signed with the federal government of the US, some of them more than 150 years old. The group also visited the Bolivian, Chilean, South African and Venezuelan embassies, and would continue on their diplomatic mission and take it overseas in the coming weeks and months. Lakota country includes parts of the states of Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana and Wyoming. The new country would issue its own passports and driving licences, and living there would be tax-free - provided residents renounce their US citizenship, Mr Means said. The treaties signed with the US were merely "worthless words on worthless paper," the Lakota freedom activists said. Withdrawing from the treaties was entirely legal, Means said. "This is according to the laws of the United States, specifically article six of the constitution,'' which states that treaties are the supreme law of the land, he said.` `It is also within the laws on treaties passed at the Vienna Convention and put into effect by the US and the rest of the international community in 1980. We are legally within our rights to be free and independent,'' said Means. The Lakota relaunched their journey to freedom in 1974, when they drafted a declaration of continuing independence -- an overt play on the title of the United States' Declaration of Independence from England. Thirty-three years have elapsed since then because ``it takes critical mass to combat colonialism and we wanted to make sure that all our ducks were in a row,'' Means said. One duck moved into place in September, when the United Nations adopted a non-binding declaration on the rights of indigenous peoples -- despite opposition from the United States, which said it clashed with its own laws.` `We have 33 treaties with the United States that they have not lived by. They continue to take our land, our water, our children,'' Phyllis Young, who helped organize the first international conference on indigenous rights in Geneva in 1977, told the news conference. The US ``annexation'' of native American land has resulted in once proud tribes such as the Lakota becoming mere ``facsimiles of white people,'' said Means. Oppression at the hands of the US government has taken its toll on the Lakota, whose men have one of the shortest life expectancies - less than 44 years - in the world. Lakota teen suicides are 150 per cent above the norm for the US; infant mortality is five times higher than the US average; and unemployment is rife, according to the Lakota freedom movement's website.

Iran recently established an embassy in Nicaragua's capital." Bensman also linked to a Nicaraguan government document showing that "Nicaragua's chief immigration minister personally authorized 21 Iranian men to enter the country, without visas that would have left a record." Bensman told me in an e-mail that "I've been running those names by every intel person I know. Even went to the MEK in Paris. Nothing back yet. I ended up just posting the names on our web site. If you know anyone who can run them and report back...." So, loyal readers, please take a look at those names. 3. A lot of "experts" are still running around talking about the "moderate" Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt (see this recent Jamestown Foundation piece with that claim). They should consider MEMRI's transcript of an interview with Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood leader Sheikh Muhammad Mahdi 'Akef on Al-Hiwar TV, broadcast November 30, 2007. In it, Akef reiterated that the MB is ready to send 10,000 men to Lebanon "in order to support the resistance." Let's ask: "Resistance" to what? The Israeli Army isn't in Lebanon - it left in 2000. The U.S. has no troops in Lebanon. So is Akef promising to deliver the Lebanese from Hezbollah and Syrian oppression? Mais non, Akef would never dream of opposing Hezbollah and Syria. See how Akef groups Sunni and Shiite terrorists: Interviewer: "There are Sunnis, members of Al-Qaeda, who kill civilians in the name of Islam. There are Shi'ites who kill Sunnis in the name of Islam..." 'Akef: "All these things are American Zionist tricks. So I assume that Akef is pledging men and money to support "resistance" against those Lebanese who would resist the terrorism and thuggery imposed by the MB's allies. He's doing what any good Mafia Godfather would have done to support "the family." We didn't need Akef to restate the obvious - that the Egyptian MB will devote its resources to promoting MB-based terrorism. Anybody could find the numerous articles by Doug Farah and others here about the true aims of the MB network, or they could find articles specifically about the Egyptian MB like this article, or this one, or this one, in minutes. But it's always nice to hear it from the horse's mouth. I hope everyone is listening. By the way, I wrote the author of that Jamestown piece I first cited, asking him about the inconsistencies with the three other articles (one of which he wrote), and he didn't respond. 4. Senator Clinton seriously doubts this, and says so. "One little wave of your hand and all people will rejoice forever? Show me." So the Pope slapped Hillary.

The explosion was preceded by another IED in the same place which didn’t cause any casualties and after people gathered, the 2nd explosion. Gunmen opened fire killing a traffic policemen inside his car in New Baghdad area east Baghdad around 8,30 am. 2 members of Adhemiyah Sahwa were killed and 10 others were injured in an IED explosion that targeted the office of Sahwa in Eshreen Street in Adhemiyah neighborhood north Baghdad around 12,30 pm. 2 civilians were injured when gunmen opened fire targeting their car in Waziriyah neighborhood east Baghdad around 12,30 pm. 3 members of Doura Sahwa were injured when they were attacked from one of the houses in Al Kafa’at area in Doura neighborhood south Baghdad around 12,30 pm. A civilian was killed and 3 others were wounded in a suicide car bomb targeted a check point for the Iraqis army in Bayaa neighborhood southwest Baghdad around 4,30 pm. Police found 4 bodies in Baghdad today in the following neighborhoods (1 body in New Baghdad, 1 body in Qahira, 1 body in Doura and 1 body in Saidiyah). Diyala Iraqi army found 4 corpses of civilians in Hdid area 5 Kms west of Baquba city. 3 civilians were wounded (2 men and a woman) when an IED exploded targeting a car in Muqdadiyah town east Baquba city. Karbala Karbala police spokesman Rahman Al Mshawi said that two children were killed and two others were wounded in a cluster bomb that was left over from the 2003 invasion. The incident took place in a soccer field in Al Ghadeer neighborhood south Karbala city today afternoon.
