You're right, all or some of the things you wrote have to be done, and done fast. The window of regime change in Iran is already narrowing, and the next President cannot be trusted to confront the mullahs. (Especially if Mullah Obama wins!)

So why are we not doing it? Answer: no political will and no resolve by the President who has seemingly given a free hand to Condi Rice who is making a MESS out of US Iran policy by her back-channel negotiations with the regime in Tehran. You see, Condi was taught by no other than Madeliene Albright (the Great Appeaser of Mullahs herself). Besides, Condi is now looking for a legacy to leave behind under her name: one who struck a "Grand Bargain" with Iran's mullahs.

BTW, i forgot to ask about america's preference for republics. Well, when the US liberated Afghanistan 4 years ago, we did not face the return of the monarchy. Do you think that in case America helps the iranians topple the mullah's regime, she will not support the establishment of a constitutional monarchy under the rule of Reza II? Is there any bias within the american outlook of the world towards republicanism?

There is always something that everyone forgets in this whole argument.

It is very simple. We set some particular line, say if Iran detonates a nuke or we have definative proof that have completed one.

We give them 24 hours to surrender or face the price of playing with nukes. Completely. The President and the mullahs turn themselves over to Western authorities for their crimes in supporting terrorists.

If they refuse to surrender, we detonate a 10 megaton H-bomb over the reactor and military sites at Bashehr.

Then we give them 12 hours to surrender completely same demands.

If they still refuse we incinerate the next most important military site followed by the holy site at Qom 6 hours later, then Tehran in 3 hours.

We certainly will run out of targets long before we run out of nukes. Our current stcokpile is around 7,000.

At some point either they surrender or there won't be anyone left to cause a problem.

I rather imagine the rest of the Middle East will get the point after this. We tell you to knock off causing problems and you better shut up. Or else.
