A recent "Investor's Business Daily" article provided very interesting statistics from a survey by the United Nations International Health Organization.
Percentage of men and women who survived a cancer five years after
diagnosis:
U.S. 65%
England 46%
Canada 42%
Percentage of patients diagnosed with diabetes who received treatment within six months:
U.S. 93%
England 15%
Canada 43%
Percentage of seniors needing hip replacement who received it within six
months:
U.S. 90%
England 15%
Canada 43%
Percentage referred to a medical specialist who see one within one month:
U.S. 77%
England 40%
Canada 43%
Number of MRI scanners (a prime diagnostic tool) per million people:
U.S. 71
England 14
Canada 18
Percentage of seniors (65+), with low income, who say they are in "excellent
health":

I don't know about you, but I don't want "Universal Healthcare" comparable to England or Canada .
Moreover, it was Sen. Harry Reid who said, "Elderly Americans must learn to accept the inconveniences of old age." (Like the Bill's Death Panels for the Old and Abortions to reduce those needing healthcare at both ends of the spectrum, since they are not yet deserving or past deserving)
SHIP HIM TO CANADA OR ENGLAND !
He is "elderly" himself but be sure to remember his health insurance is different from yours as Congress has their own high-end coverage! He will never have to learn to accept "inconveniences"!!!
AND THE WINNER IS VERY INTERESTING!
the percentage of each past president's cabinet who had worked in the
private business sector prior to their appointment to the cabinet.
You know, what the private business sector is... a real life business, not a
government job. Here are the percentages.
T. Roosevelt........ 38%
Taft.....................40%
Wilson .................. 52%
Harding..................49%
Coolidge.............. 48%
Hoover................. 42%
F. Roosevelt......... 50%
Truman..................50%
Eisenhower........... 57%
Kennedy.............. 30%
Johnson.................47%
Nixon................... 53%
Ford..................... 42%
Carter.................. 32%
Reagan...................56%
GH Bush................. 51%
Clinton ................. 39%
GW Bush................ 55%
And the winner of the Chicken Dinner is:
Obama................ 8% !
Yep! That's right! Only Eight Percent!!!..the least by far of the last 19
presidents!!
And these people are trying to tell our big corporations how
to run their business? They know what's best for GM...Chrysler...
Wall Street... and you and me?
A Christian
Several years ago, a preacher from out-of-state accepted a call to a church
in Houston , Texas . Some weeks after he arrived, he had an occasion to ride
the bus from his home to the downtown area. When he sat down, he discovered
that the driver had accidentally given him a quarter too much change.. As he
considered what to do, he thought to himself, 'You'd better give the quarter
back. It would be wrong to keep it.' Then he thought, 'Oh, forget it, it's
only a quarter. Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus
company gets too much fare; they will never miss it.
Accept it as a 'gift from God' and keep quiet.'
When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, and then he handed
the quarter to the driver and said, 'Here, you gave me too much change ..'
The driver, with a smile, replied, 'Aren't you the new preacher in town?'
'Yes' he replied.
'Well, I have been thinking a lot lately about going somewhere to worship. I
just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change. I'll see
you at church on Sunday.'
When the preacher stepped off of the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest
light pole, held on, and said, 'Oh God, I almost sold your Son for a
quarter.'
Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read. This is a really
scary example of how much people watch us as Christians, and will put us to
the test! Always be on guard -- and remember -- You carry the name of
Christ on your shoulders when you call yourself 'Christian.'
Watch your thoughts ; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits..
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes
your destiny.
Long before Christianity, before ISLAM in Iran, Persian Zoroastrians built their single God of Light religious philosophy (plus an equal Satan of Darkness) on the tripod of:
"Think Good Thoughts" (Pendar-eh Nik)
"Speak Good Words" (Goftar-eh Nik)
"Do Good Deeds" (Raftar-eh Nik)
What more do you need to be a good person?
