By: Kenneth R. Timmerman Iran has carried out missile tests for what could be a plan for a nuclear strike on the United States, the head of a national security panel has warned. In testimony before the House Armed Services Committee and in remarks to a private conference on missile defense over the weekend hosted by the Claremont Institute, Dr. William Graham warned that the U.S. intelligence community “doesn’t have a story” to explain the recent Iranian tests. One group of tests that troubled Graham, the former White House science adviser under President Ronald Reagan, were successful efforts to launch a Scud missile from a platform in the Caspian Sea. “They’ve got [test] ranges in Iran which are more than long enough to handle Scud launches and even Shahab-3 launches,” Dr. Graham said. “Why would they be launching from the surface of the Caspian Sea? They obviously have not explained that to us.” Another troubling group of tests involved Shahab-3 launches where the Iranians "detonated the warhead near apogee, not over the target area where the thing would eventually land, but at altitude,” Graham said. “Why would they do that?” Graham chairs the Commission to Assess the Threat to the United States from Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) Attack, a blue-ribbon panel established by Congress in 2001. The commission examined the Iranian tests “and without too much effort connected the dots,” even though the U.S. intelligence community previously had failed to do so, Graham said. “The only plausible explanation we can find is that the Iranians are figuring out how to launch a missile from a ship and get it up to altitude and then detonate it,” he said. “And that’s exactly what you would do if you had a nuclear weapon on a Scud or a Shahab-3 or other missile, and you wanted to explode it over the United States.” NOTE: WE WARNED OF IRAN'S E.M.P THREAT BACK IN SEPTEMBER 2007. IRAN EMP THREAT CLICK HERE The commission warned in a report issued in April that the United States was at risk of a sneak nuclear attack by a rogue nation or a terrorist group designed to take out our nation’s critical infrastructure. "If even a crude nuclear weapon were detonated anywhere between 40 kilometers to 400 kilometers above the earth, in a split-second it would generate an electro-magnetic pulse [EMP] that would cripple military and civilian communications, power, transportation, water, food, and other infrastructure," the report warned. While not causing immediate civilian casualties, the near-term impact on U.S. society would dwarf the damage of a direct nuclear strike on a U.S. city. “The first indication [of such an attack] would be that the power would go out, and some, but not all, the telecommunications would go out. We would not physically feel anything in our bodies,” Graham said. As electric power, water and gas delivery systems failed, there would be “truly massive traffic jams,” Graham added, since modern automobiles and signaling systems all depend on sophisticated electronics that would be disabled by the EMP wave. “So you would be walking. You wouldn’t be driving at that point,” Graham said. “And it wouldn’t do any good to call the maintenance or repair people because they wouldn’t be able to get there, even if you could get through to them.” The food distribution system also would grind to a halt as cold-storage warehouses stockpiling perishables went offline. Even warehouses equipped with backup diesel generators would fail, because “we wouldn’t be able to pump the fuel into the trucks and get the trucks to the warehouses,” Graham said. The United States “would quickly revert to an early 19th century type of country.” except that we would have 10 times as many people with ten times fewer resources, he said. “Most of the things we depend upon would be gone, and we would literally be depending on our own assets and those we could reach by walking to them,” Graham said. America would begin to resemble the 2002 TV series, “Jeremiah,” which depicts a world bereft of law, infrastructure, and memory. In the TV series, an unspecified virus wipes out the entire adult population of the planet. In an EMP attack, the casualties would be caused by our almost total dependence on technology for everything from food and water, to hospital care. Within a week or two of the attack, people would start dying, Graham says. “People in hospitals would be dying faster than that, because they depend on power to stay alive. But then it would go to water, food, civil authority, emergency services. And we would end up with a country with many, many people not surviving the event.” Asked just how many Americans would die if Iran were to launch the EMP attack it appears to be preparing, Graham gave a chilling reply. “You have to go back into the 1800s to look at the size of population” that could survive in a nation deprived of mechanized agriculture, transportation, power, water, and communication. “I’d have to say that 70 to 90 percent of the population would not be sustainable after this kind of attack,” he said. America would be reduced to a core of around 30 million people — about the number that existed in the decades after America’s independence from Great Britain. The modern electronic economy would shut down, and America would most likely revert to “an earlier economy based on barter,” the EMP commission’s report on Critical National Infrastructure concluded earlier this year. In his recent congressional testimony, Graham revealed that Iranian military journals, translated by the CIA at his commission’s request, “explicitly discuss a nuclear EMP attack that would gravely harm the United States.” Furthermore, if Iran launched its attack from a cargo ship plying the commercial sea lanes off the East coast — a scenario that appears to have been tested during the Caspian Sea tests — U.S. investigators might never determine who was behind the attack. Because of the limits of nuclear forensic technology, it could take months. And to disguise their traces, the Iranians could simply decide to sink the ship that had been used to launch it, Graham said. Several participants in last weekend’s conference in Dearborn, Mich., hosted by the conservative Claremont Institute argued that Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was thinking about an EMP attack when he opined that “a world without America is conceivable.” In May 2007, then Undersecretary of State John Rood told Congress that the U.S. intelligence community estimates that Iran could develop an ICBM capable of hitting the continental United States by 2015. But Iran could put a Scud missile on board a cargo ship and launch from the commercial sea lanes off America’s coasts well before then. The only thing Iran is lacking for an effective EMP attack is a nuclear warhead, (ALAN: - NOT SO, THEY HAVE UP TO HALF A DOZEN WITH ENOUGH BANG FOR AN EMP but did not have a good delivery system) and no one knows with any certainty when that will occur. The latest U.S. intelligence estimate states that Iran could acquire the fissile material for a nuclear weapon as early as 2009, or as late as 2015, or possibly later. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld first detailed the “Scud-in-a-bucket” threat during a briefing in Huntsville, Ala., on Aug. 18, 2004. While not explicitly naming Iran, Rumsfeld revealed that “one of the nations in the Middle East had launched a ballistic missile from a cargo vessel. They had taken a short-range, probably Scud missile, put it on a transporter-erector launcher, lowered it in, taken the vessel out into the water, peeled back the top, erected it, fired it, lowered it, and covered it up. And the ship that they used was using a radar and electronic equipment that was no different than 50, 60, 100 other ships operating in the immediate area.” Iran’s first test of a ship-launched Scud missile occurred in spring 1998, and was mentioned several months later in veiled terms by the Commission to Assess the Ballistic Missile Threat to the United States, a blue-ribbon panel also known as the Rumsfeld Commission. I was the first reporter to mention the Iran sea-launched missile test in an article appearing in the Washington Times in May 1999. Intelligence reports on the launch were “well known to the White House but have not been disseminated to the appropriate congressional committees,” I wrote. Such a missile “could be used in a devastating stealth attack against the United States or Israel for which the United States has no known or planned defense.” Few experts believe that Iran can be deterred from launching such an attack by the threat of massive retaliation against Iran. They point to a December 2001 statement by former Iranian President Ali Akbar Hashemi-Rafsanjani, who mulled the possibility of Israeli retaliation after an Iranian nuclear strike. “The use of an atomic bomb against Israel would destroy Israel completely, while [the same] against Islamic Iran only would cause damages. Such a scenario is not inconceivable,” Rafsanjani said at the time. Rep. Trent Franks, R, Ariz., plans to introduce legislation next week that would require the Pentagon to lay the groundwork for an eventual military strike against Iran, to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and EMP capability. Alan note: Iran has had EMP technology capability for some years. “An EMP attack on America would send us back to the horse and buggy era — without the horse and buggy,” he told the Claremont Institute conference on Saturday. “If you’re a terrorist, this is your ultimate goal, your ultimate asymmetric weapon.” Noting Iran’s recent sea-launched and mid-flight warhead detonation tests, Rep. Franks concluded, “They could do it — either directly or anonymously by putting some freighter out there on the ocean.” The only possible deterrent against Iran is the prospect of failure, Dr. Graham and other experts agreed. And the only way the United States could credibly threaten an Iranian missile strike would be to deploy effective national missile defenses. “It’s well known that people don’t go on a diet until they’ve had a heart attack,” said Claremont Institute president Brian T. Kennedy. “And we as a nation are having a heart attack” when it comes to the threat of an EMP attack from Iran. “As of today, we have no defense against such an attack. We need space-based missile defenses to protect against an EMP attack,” he told Newsmax. Rep. Franks said he remains surprised at how partisan the subject of space-based missile defenses remain. “Nuclear missiles don’t discriminate on party lines when they land,” he said. Arizona Republican Sen. Jon Kyl, a long-standing champion of missile defense, told the Claremont conference on Friday that Sen. Obama has opposed missile defense tooth and nail and as president would cut funding for these programs dramatically. “Senator Obama has been quoted as saying, ‘I don’t agree with a missile defense system,’ and that we can cut $10 billion of the research out — never mind, as I say, that the entire budget is $9.6 billion, or $9.3 billion,” Kyl said. Like Franks, Kyl believes that the only way to eventually deter Iran from launching an EMP attack on the United States is to deploy robust missile defense systems, including space-based interceptors. The United States “needs a missile defense that is so strong, in all the different phases we need to defend against . . . that countries will decide it’s not worth coming up against us,” Kyl said. “That’s one of the things that defeated the Soviet Union. That’s one of the ways we can deal with these rogue states . . . and also the way that we can keep countries that are not enemies today, but are potential enemies, from developing capabilities to challenge us. For anyone who doesn't know it, the so-called "anti-war" group International A.N.S.W.E.R. was formed by leaders of the Workers World Party - WWP (and mere days after the 911 attacks).

WWP is a collection of pro-North Korea Stalinists based in New York City. When A.N.S.W.E.R. was eventually outed as a communist front, WWP started up a new "peace" group called Troops Out Now.

Democrat chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Charlie Rangel, actually gives speeches at their rallies and the New York City media looks the other way -also is never confronted by Hannity or O'Reilly about it, despite his almost weekly appearances on their programs. http://www.workers.org/march19/index2.html Like any other group, Communists come in a lot of shapes, sizes and colors. This time they’re wearing pink, they’re on the nightly news, and more than anything, they want the mothers and grandmothers of America to identify with them.

If you didn’t know any better, you’d think the leaders of the women’s anti-war group Code Pink got lost on their way to the carpool line.

Since October, these hot pink-clad "marching moms" have been spinning the same tale to reporters from coast to coast, the one about how concern for their families moved them to trade their oven mitts for placards and take to the streets in protest of an unjust war on Iraq.

They’ve played the part so convincingly that over the last six months, they’ve become the media darlings of war protest movement, raking in the television talk show invites and making national news when they were arrested in front of the White House.

But the untold story is what they were doing before October.

Unless you travel in Marxist circles or work for the FBI or CIA, the names of the Code Pink moms may not ring a bell with you, though you’ve probably been reading news reports about their collective exploits for years.

In the wake of their war against capitalism and self-determination, they’ve left a trail of anarchy and destruction that has cost property owners, corporations and consumers millions of dollars.

Naturally, they’ve toned their Marxist rhetoric down for their stint with Code Pink.

Though they’ve taken great pains to differentiate themselves from the other, more radical anti-war protesters, they are one and the same.

The leaders of Code Pink didn’t merely take part in the Washington and San Francisco protests that made international headlines – they also organized them.

In the process, they’ve provided a rare public glimpse of the faces behind the modern, highly organized American Marxist movement.

Alan note: using Code Pink and the WWP group, the Mullahs have organized a nationwide campaign of street demonstrations URGING Americans to pressure our government NOT TO ATTACK IRAN.

Needless to say, these women have little in common with the carpool moms of America.

At the center of Code Pink is legendary leftist organizer Medea Benjamin, the 50-year-old mother of two widely credited as a chief organizing force behind the 1999 Seattle riots in which 50,000 protesters did millions of dollars worth of property damage in their effort to shut down meetings of the World Trade Organization.

In addition to Code Pink, Benjamin’s San Francisco-based human rights organization Global Exchange was the founding force for United for Peace and Justice coalition, the nexus of the anti-war protests.

The United for Peace coalition, which includes Socialist Action and the Socialist Party USA, is also led by Leslie Cagan, who has a long history of activism with the American Communist Party.

The mindset of Benjamin and her friends can best be summed up by her description in the San Francisco Chronicle of how she felt on her first pilgrimage to Cuba in the early 1980s.

Compared to life in the United States, the communist social equality of Cuba "made it seem like I died and went to heaven," Benjamin enthused. Now it appears that Benjamin is trying to recreate it here.

Alan Note: with Obama's strong. lifelong Leftist, even Communist background, including his Kenyan close family members, he has enormous favor with these Communist groups and their ability to organize is being tested by Iran's Mullahs. Who, incidentally, want Obama as their president in the USA.

The ties that continue to bind Benjamin, Cagan and the others behind Code Pink and today’s anti-war movement were formed in the early-to-mid 1980s when the still young Marxist-American activists found the cause that first unified them: a communist government in Nicaragua.

Using the same sort of incestuous, sprawling coalitions they created to oppose the war in Iraq and the invasion of Afghanistan after Sept. 11, they helped aid the Marxist Sandinista regime in its struggle against the American-backed Contras for control of the Nicaraguan government.

Benjamin worked as a project coordinator for Institute for Food and Development Policy (IFDP), which was widely credited with aiding the Marxist Sandinista regime while Cagan, coordinator of the National Mobilization for Justice and Peace in Central America, led marches against US aid to the contras at home that at times attracted upwards of 75,000 people.

When Sand Brim, the widely interviewed voice of Code Pink, insisted to the reporters who interviewed her in January that she was not an activist, just a businesswoman with reservations about war, her 1985 stint in Nicaragua must have slipped her mind.

As the executive director of Medical Aid, Brim flew an American neurosurgeon to San Salvador to operate on Marxist Revolutionary Party Commander Nidia Diaz’s hand, which had been injured in combat.

That Diaz’s group had claimed responsibility for the murders of four U.S. Marines and nine civilians two months before was apparently not an issue for Brim.

Nor were such ironies a problem for Kirsten Moller, the current executive director of Global Exchange and Code Pink organizer who, like Benjamin, also worked for IFDP in the 80s.

In the 1990s, Benjamin and other Code Pink Marxists focused their energies on organizing sometimes-violent protests against free trade across the globe, targeting large corporations with high-profile campaigns and lawsuits that cost consumers and companies like Gap, Nike and Starbucks millions of dollars.

As with the anti-war protests of the moment, the Marxist World Worker’s Party website has played a crucial organizing role in their anti-corporate activities, letting would-be agitators know when and where to show up for demonstrations.

Meanwhile, other Code Pink organizers were making a name for themselves in domestic and eco-terrorism in the 1990s. Code Pink Co-Founder Jodie Evans also sits on the board of directors of Rain Forest Action Network (RAN), a radical anti-capitalist, anti-corporate coalition of environmental groups co-founded by Mike Roselle, who also founded the domestic terrorist organization Earth Liberation Front (ELF), which along with the Animal Liberation Front (ALF) is ranked the No. 1 domestic terrorism threat by the FBI.

The FBI attributes over 600 criminal acts and $43 million in damages to the two groups since 1996. Wherever RAN pops up, you’ll also tend to find the Ruckus Society, which has trained activists for ELF/ALF. Ruckus Society organizer Steve Kretzmann, also a Code Pink coordinator, has helped train activists in the agitation tactics that have earned the Ruckus Society its reputation.

The Ruckus Society, it’s also worth mentioning, is a coalition member of Benjamin’s United for Peace and Justice.

Code Pink may be communism central for the moment, but if the past is any indication, the group will be left to die on the vine as soon as public attention shifts away from the war in Iraq.

Like the other wedge issues these activists are so skilled at creating and taking advantage of, the Iraqi conflict is little more than an opportunity to ingratiate themselves with the American public and swell their volunteer rosters while energizing and solidifying the organization they’d been building since the Seattle riots.

While it may seem chaotic with its mass of groups with varied interests, "the movement" as the organizers like to call it, is built around a simple theme: that America and the rest of the world is increasingly controlled by corporate powers that threaten democratic rights.

Its goals, as laid out by Benjamin and others in a variety of newspapers over the years, are clear-cut.

They want to redistribute wealth from the top tiers of society to the poorest Americans by raising minimum wages, choking off trade, pushing up inflation, limiting corporate growth and dragging down the stock market, cutting into the profits of the country’s largest corporations or shutting them down completely and prompting white collar layoffs.

As Benjamin explained to The Sunday Oregonian in 2000, these changes would be made slowly, perhaps over 20 years or more.

Though she admits that the above would cause an economic shakedown or even a stock-market crash, she insists the changes would lead to a "healthier, more stable economy."

"Seattle was this kind of battle cry," Benjamin told the San Jose Mercury News in 2000. "We now know we can mobilize hundreds of thousands of people." (AND BE A GOOD HIRE FOR THE MULLAHS)

But to the dismay of the movement’s organizers, September 11 crushed some of that momentum.

Ironically enough, September 11 was the day they’d planned to announce their biggest demonstration yet, which was slated to draw well over 100,000 protesters to Washington from around the world in late September. It was instead replaced with a small peace demonstration.

The Code Pink ladies have been biding their time ever since, reaching out to middle America, building their contact lists and dreaming of the Marxist America that might one day be.

With the daily proximity and sharing of quarters by the Islamic noviate students, the obstacles the Islamic sharia laws and the Iranian culture present to a heterosexual relationship, despite denials by President Ahmadi-Nejad that there are no gays in Iran, gay sex is the most easy to practice for a major portion of the populace, whose average age is around 25-years. Young enough to have strong sexual drives but without the money required to marry or buy sexual favors, though these favors abound for sale in Islamic Iran. Same sex relationships flourish broadly as the only viable alternative.

In Islamic circles where it is a common, accepted practise, pederasty or sodomy is NOT considered a "gay" act.

However if two men perform oral sex on each other, THAT is being gay. Go figure!

Societal structure and conditions lead to incredibly greater infection by AIDS in the Islamic Iran population (similar to some African nations) because one third of Islamic Iran's population is drug addicted and shares needles. A far higher statistic than the government wants to admit and is (as usual) suppressing the information and the reliable source the two medical brothers provided in their expert and experienced capacity. Remember, one third of 70 million residents in Islamic Iran means OVER 20 MILLION addicted people, who for whatever reasons are vulnerable to contracting and transmitting AIDS and other infectious diseases. Islamic Iran has the highest proportion of Heroin addicts to population of any country in the world. Remember, that for the most part these are unsophisticated, mentally restricted by religion and medically ignorant citizens, whose education has been curtailed or stunted since the fall of the Shah by religious definition of what is permitted as curriculum. Remember, that in Islamic Iran, education for women has been restricted and edicts have been passed to prevent more than 10% admittance of females to universities. Remember, that discussing health and personal hygiene facts offend and embarrass the sensitivities of almost every member of the population except a very narrow minority layer of the populace, including among those who live in major cities, have traveled or studied abroad and have a questing mind. The kind of information available from Mass Media sources, as a given to us in the West, is beyond their reach. The Islamic regime tries to eradicate challenges by stamping them out, inflicting penalty of death by execution instead of education as their tool. The education needed would conflict with the Dark Age mores and customs they insist must be followed by Iranians trapped in a time warp, which excludes them from the modern world in which we all live and is forbidden to them. Remember, there are over 500,000 street children and a further 100,000 homeless women in Tehran streets, who are vulerable to being forced into having sex for pay or by force, widening the epidemic potential of all this unprotected sex. And who readily turn to solace in drugs, which the Mullahs are happy to provide as the biggest drug dealers in the land. Thus further incrasing the infection rate potential. The regime bigwigs also encourage addiction to keep as many as possible in a stupor, desperately trying to find a way to pay for the drugs and simultaneously trying to feed themselves and their families – thus too preoccupied with daily survival to rise up against them. Shades of the opium the British introduced into China for similar reasons. And China’s strategy some decades ago of dumping huge amounts of black tar Heroin into the USA at ridiculously low prices to addict our youth and weaken us for generations to come. Remember, that the Persian culture, which hampers normal male and female relations, shames and shuns anyone who has contracted a sexual disease far more than in the West. With the difference that in Islamic Iran, those with AIDS would be fearful of being EXECUTED, when interrogated under torture of how they contracted the illness, not just embarrassed. Remember, that almost like Lemmings, the disillusioned, hopeless populace is reaching a point of no longer caring. Not about contracting the disease, less so of passing it on and so discouraged that they wonder whether being alive at all is worth it. Three government workers killed themselves last week out of despair. Without their unpaid wages, they were unable to feed their families. Nio food stamps nor social safety net in Islamic Iran to help them. This is a tip of the iceberg. Suicides have increased dramatically among the youth, specially females, as people lose all hope of even a minimal existence, let alone a half-way decent life and future. They question whether to strive and struggle in the face of skyrocketing prices for basic food and staples such as bread, potatoes, eggs or tomatoes is worth it, when trying to feed your family has become an increasingly receding possibility or achievable target. Remember, that a good wage in Islamic Iran is $30 per month. And $300 is in a high level position’s pay scale. Any wonder there is such intense corruption, even in a naurally corrupt Mullah environment? For those of us in the USA, dealing with our high gas prices, recognize how the fuel prices in Iran (proportionally to incomes) are exponentially higher per capita than ours and have been rationed, so you cannot buy enough fuel to pursue your basic needs. An already severe shortage, forbids those with luxury cars from buying fuel at subsidized but rationed prices, There has been a rush to hoard fuel and the running comment in Isalmic Iran is that with everyone storing maximum amounts of fuel in containers at their homes, any accidental fire will turn a neighborhood or the whole city into one big fireball. Gasoline and diesel fuel prices have quadrupled in Islamic Iran during the past weeks, which can only refine about half of its needs and imports the rest. Remember, that the cost of putting a roof over your head has risen to near impossible to attain levels (making marriage too costly) and Islamic co-habitation sharia laws prevent having room-mates of a different sex or even easily lodging non-related couples together. (Also adding to men (not women) sharing and finding male sex partners). Since most women cannot find jobs, thus rent a place together - apart from the ensuing vulnerability to harrassment by the Morals police - the difficulties the populace face are also multiplied by factors of hundreds when faced by women. Which creates yet another influence in the current raging, blacked out, epidemic of AIDS in Islamic Iran. Prostituion and temporary marriages. The latter being a formula for “legalized prostitution” as such marriages can be for as short as a few minutes or a half hour or whatever becomes the convenient time frame in which to have “close contact” and sex in conformity with sharia laws. Unable to earn a living, women from all classes of society in Iran have turned to “turning tricks” to supplement household income. Whether living with their parents (who would be horrified unless desperate enough to close their eyes as is frequently the case these days) or married and probably explaining extra money as coming from her parents or a “rich relative”, who feels sorry for the couple and wants to help out. Then remember, that women who get arrested for anything, nearly invariably end up being raped while in custody. Both by the guards and the Mullah judges, many of whom are infected with AIDS and have no compunction in passing it on to their victims- who “deserve to be punished this way by Allah”, since one of them probably infected them in the first place during a rape. The Mullahs thus face more than one crisis right now, not only the threat of sanctions that loom above them as soon as in one week. While they have managed to hide – so far – the extent of the AIDS problem inside Islamic Iran, in the recent nuclear negotiations with Al Baradei, the Mullah representative Gholamreza Aghazadeh inadvertently admitted by inference and on record that Iran is behind the problems in Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon and Gaza. He stated that if the IAEA would reopen negotiations with Islamic Iran then (paraphrased) he would reassure the IAEA the Mullahs would take care of and resolve the problems the West is facing within Iraq, in Afghanistan, with Hamas and Hezbollah - and bring down oil prices! He apparently tried to indicate that William Burns’ presence at the EU negotiations was a sign of the thaw in the formely icy relations between the USA and Islamic Iran – as was the USA request to open an American Interests representative office in Tehran. Burns was in effect fed up with the EU feeding the USA massaged information to prolong talks with the Mullahs without confontation and wanted to hear what was said first hand and for himself. Clearly, from various State Dept. comments afterward, what he actually heard did not match what Solana and the EU had been passing on to the USA. One week has passed and there appears to be a consensus among pundits that Iran will not agree to stop enriching uranium by the deadline in one week. Nor will whatever reply they bring to the table serve as a nuptial between the Mullahs and the USA leading to a 9-month pregnancy period for more talks. Meanwhile Russia has denied that the new Mullah purchase of further ground to air missiles from Russia, will be delivered by the end of this year as Israel fears. Notably, the same kind of missile system that was purchased with Tehran money from the Russians for Syria, failed to respond as did the early warning alarms attached to the system, when Israel bombed a Korean nuclear plant being established in Syria. The uncertainty of whether the same Russian missiles will work for Islamic Iran in the event of an Israeli iar strike, now possibly out of a short five minute flight from Haditha in Iraq has the Mullahs more han worried. With food, gasoline and money shortages hitting the Iranian populace with hunger, inability to commute as needed to earn money and buy food for their families and a rise in suicides from misery, the Mullah regime finds itself increasingly asked by the people what it is doing and has done with the enormous revenues from oil sales. All the Iranian people see today is an infliction of poverty, oppression, corruption and critical discomfort in their lives. Sad commentary but it might end up being actual hunger for food that overcomes their fears and drives them into the streets in revolt against the Mullah regime. In some way similar to the recent bread riots in Eqypt. Severe sanctions in the works by the West, include: banning of all flights to and from Iran, banning oil purchase from Iran, banning sales of gasoline or diesel fuels to the Mullahs, freezing all bank transactions to/from Iran, banning all ports from accepting ships to/from Iran, including oil tankers and an embargo on all Iranian exports. While China, with a $300 BILLION oil and gas contract in hand with the Islamic regime may scuttle the effectiveness of some of this, Russia may decide to abide by it when there is so much unity of purpose by the West and avoid the risk of having (mutually counter-productive) EU and American embargoes being aimed at them. China has huge trade and financial ties with the USA and holds a very strong hand in financially destroying the American economy if push comes to shove. And an off-the-wall possibility of sending hordes of military into Iran to “maintain the stability of the region and protect Chinese interests”. Russia has little enough trade with the USA and also less damaging power but can hurt the EU by stopping fossil fuel exports in that direction. Regardless of these peripheral implications, Islamic Iran cannot overcome the sanctions and survive solely on Chinese and Russian support. Nor in most military estimates, has the ability to prevent oil passage through the Persian Gulf for very long, before response by the West wipes out any such capability and perhaps invades the Khuzestan oil region, declaring it a protectorate for the benefit of mankind or global security. Plus efforts to impede oil flow would be an act of war and permit Israel and Western allies to bomb Iran nuclear facilities and perhaps turn it into a glass surfaced parking lot. The near future will divulge the reality what is about to happen, none of it wil be without pain for the West but far less than if we allow Iran to have nuclear weapons to leverage their power and stategies. As the Soldiers were lined up to shake his hand he blew them off and didn't say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service. So really he was just here to make a showing for the American's back home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you. I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders than from one of our Senators, who wants to be the President of the United States.? THE ENEMY WITHIN ISLAMIC IRAN

By Alireza Jafarzadeh (Alan notes or emphasis in red) The ayatollahs continue to enrich uranium, despite the high-profile meeting on July 19, 2008 in Geneva between Tehran's top nuclear negotiator and senior western diplomats representing the Group of 5+1 (which Obama calls 3+3). No surprise there. They are banking their regime's survival on nuclear capability. Ali Larijani, Iran's former nuclear negotiator, once said that giving in to the West's demands that Iran suspend its enrichment would be suicide. But, however much their regional role is tied to developing a nuclear weapon, domestically their grip is being challenged on a daily basis. Indeed, the backbone of the ayatollahs' regime, the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), is being revamped at great haste, primarily to cope with rising dissent. The region's changing geo-strategic dynamics coupled with sanctions targeting the IRGC, and its terrorist elite unit, the Qods Force, are also factors. According to intelligence gathered by the Iranian Resistance's network inside Iran, on June 28, 2008, Mohammad Ali (Aziz) Jafari, the IRGC Commander-in-Chief, launched a major reorganization of the Corps. The scale of this re-org is unprecedented since the 1985 re-vamp, when the clerical regime's founder Ayatollah Khomeini ordered the IRGC split into three branches - Army, Navy and Air force. The new structure changes the IRGC from a centralized to a decentralized force with 31 provincial corps, whose commanders wield extensive authority and power. According to the plan, each of Iran's thirty provinces will have a provincial corps, except Tehran Province, which will have two. A look back at the summer of 2005, when Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was propelled to the presidency, provides some insight. His rise came about through a "complex and multi-layered" plan devised by the Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, and (strong pressure from) the IRGC top brass. With Khamenei's backing, the IRGC had already taken the reins of power in most key areas. (Down to mid-low level supervisors) Ahmadinejad's presidency placed the IRGC atop the executive branch, and the metamorphosis of the IRGC into a politico-military force was complete. Khamenei then sought to implement a strategy reflecting the new pecking order. To this end, on August 21, 2005, just days after Ahmadinejad's inauguration, he ordered the formation of the IRGC Strategic Research Center and appointed then Brig. General Jafari as its head. Within two years, the Strategic Research Center developed the new strategy, whose main components are: 1) A reign of terror on the populace; 2) Terrorist suicide operations capable of striking at the "enemy", including on "enemy" soil; 3) Increasing Iran's missile strike capability; 4) Acquiring nuclear weapons capability. With a new strategy at hand and the IRGC in control, Khamenei felt all the pieces were in place. He was mistaken. According to reports from within the IRGC, Khamenei soon realized there were growing problems with IRGC personnel. With Ahmadinejad's cabinet at the helm, many veteran IRGC Brig. Generals gravitated toward political, cultural and naturally, economic realms. Not only were they disinclined to fight, but they were also reluctant even to wear the IRGC uniform. (Almost all major projects in Islamic Iran have been awarded - with uncontrolled HUGE cost overruns - to th eIRGC or their "industrial" surrogates. Almost a year ago, feeling the effects of internal unrest and foreign pressure worsening, Khamenei dismissed Major General Rahim Safavi, once a darling of the radical factions but later described by Ahmadinejad's cronies as a "liberal" and softy. On September 1, 2007, Khamene'i promoted Mohammad Ali Jafari, a friend of Ahmadinejad, to the rank of Major General and appointed him IRGC Commander. On October 20, 2007, in his first public statement following his appointment, Jafari explained that "According to the judgment of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, the Guards' strategy has changed. Accordingly, the Guards' primary mission at this juncture is to fight the internal threats." He added: "Internal security and its preservation are the tasks of the State Security Forces and other security organs. But if the problems go beyond a certain point, then the Guards - with the permission of the Supreme National Security Council and the Supreme Leader - will take charge." According to one of the regime's analysts, "The whole security environment is intended to really suffocate or torpedo any possible change from within." (With this in mind, Khamenei recently appointed the new Commander of the Bassiji Suppression forces above the Commander of the IRGC). In February 2008, Jafari acknowledged the regime's inability to uproot the opposition, saying, "Animosity toward our revolution is never-ending. As we move forward, the battle between the revolutionaries and counter-revolutionaries becomes more critical and complicated." Jafari has stressed that the IRGC's new strategy entails two essential components: accurate intelligence about enemy activities, and an increase in the regime's missile capabilities. Earlier this month, he told reporters that the IRGC "is equipped with the most advanced missiles that can strike the enemies' vessels and naval equipment with fatal blows." Back in May, he was quoted by the state-run Fars news agency as saying that "An independent command might be created in IRGC in order to fortify the structure and activities of the missile section." Another of Jafari's priorities during the past ten months has been dealing with the wave of retirements, buy-outs, and resignations by IRGC Brig. Generals. Obviously, these coincided with Khamenei's efforts to tune the regime's military apparatus with the threat of a military confrontation. Khamenei found he had no option but to purge most of the commanders of the eight-year Iran-Iraq war and replace them with post-war commanders. This explains why a good many of the twenty provincial commanders announced since June 28 have lower ranks than Brig. General, which means they were lower-ranking officers during the Iran-Iraq war. In May, Jafari alluded to Khamenei's unhappiness with the old-timers. Speaking at a ceremony introducing the new commander of Tehran's paramilitary Bassij Force (tasked with internal security), Jafari said that "in the past few years" there had been "negligence" about "domestic security" in the IRGC. Calling for a reorganization and review of the IRGC's mission, he added that the negligence was due to "a few good years" during the Iran-Iraq war, when the IRGC pursued mainly "military activities" and paid "little attention to other aspects" of its responsibilities, meaning preserving the theocratic regime against popular dissent. Strengthening Bassij Force has been the core element in the IRGC re-org. (TWO MILLION new recruits have been added to the Bassiji throughout the country). The revamping of the IRGC underscores the reality that while the ayatollahs' foreign policy imperatives are to establish a client state in Iraq and acquire a nuclear weapon, domestically they are at risk from the Iranian people and their democratic resistance movement - the enemy within. The success of this domestic movement is the key to a non-nuclear, peaceful Iran and to an independent and democratic Iraq. TERRORISTS TO BODYGUARD OBAMA

JERUSALEM – Members of the most active West Bank terror organization are set to serve in security forces being deployed to protect Sen. Barack Obama during his trip to the West Bank tomorrow, WND has learned.

Obama is due to visit Israeli officials in Jerusalem and leaders of the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank city of Ramallah as part of a wider Middle Eastern and European tour that includes Jordan, France and Germany.

According to security officials coordinating deployments of forces with the PA for Obama's Ramallah visit, members of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, Fatah's declared military wing, have been called upon by the PA to participate in the protection of Obama, particularly in securing the perimeter during a scheduled meeting with PA President Mahmoud Abbas.

The Brigades is listed as a terror organization by the U.S. State Department.

The group took credit along with the Islamic Jihad terror organization for every suicide bombing in Israel between 2005 and 2006 and is responsible for thousands of shootings and rocket firings.

Statistically, the Al Aqsa Brigades perpetuated more terrorism from the West Bank than Hamas, according to the Israeli Defense Forces.

Brigades leaders, speaking to WND on condition of anonymity, confirmed they will participate in protecting Obama as official members of the PA's security forces.

Many Brigades members, including the group's chiefs, serve openly in Fatah's Force 17 presidential guard units and the Palestinian Preventative Security Services; hundreds of Force 17 and Preventative officers are slated to secure Ramallah during Obama's visit there.

The Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades members are slated to serve in a third ring of security forces patrolling the periphery of Abbas' Ramallah compound during the Palestinian leader's meeting with Obama.

The Israeli Defense Forces, working with U.S. Security coordinators, will protect the main West Bank highway Obama's convoy will use to approach Ramallah.

Security for Obama will be largely turned over to the Palestinians once he enters Ramallah, although security plans are being heavily coordinated with the U.S.

Various high-profile Al Aqsa Brigades terrorists serve in Fatah's security forces, including those in Ramallah. The current chief of Fatah's Force 17, Abu Hayyet, is accused by Israel of planning or involvement in at least 10 deadly terror attacks, according to Israeli security officials.

Abbas previously appointed senior Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades leader Mahmoud Damra as commander of Force 17, a major, U.S.-financed Fatah security force.

Damra, who was arrested by Israel last November, was on the Jewish state's most-wanted list of terrorists.

The chief of the Brigades in Ramallah also serves in the Preventative Security Services.

Both Israeli and Palestinian security officials, speaking to WND, said there was no known threat to Obama.

Al Aqsa Brigades members doubling as PA security officers previously participated in security for other visiting U.S. Officials without incident.

One Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades member who doubles as a PA security force officer and who is set to protect Obama, joked if there was any threat to the presidential candidate it will come from Israel:

"Maybe the Israelis will try something because of Obama's policy on Israel, which the Zionists don't like, but we will certainly protect Obama.

We are professional security forces," the Al Aqsa member said.

The information Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades members will protect Obama comes after Israel announced last week it arrested six Arabs who allegedly were plotting to assassinate President Bush on behalf of al-Qaida.

Israel's Shin Bet Security Services released for publication that it had arrested six Arabs – two of them Israeli citizens and the other four Palestinian residents of eastern Jerusalem – for attempting to set up an al-Qaida cell with plans to shoot down Bush's helicopter during the president's recent visit to Israel.

It is unfathomable that two candidates could be running for our nation's highest office with no formal certification of their basic constitutional qualifications to hold that office. It is quite certain that both candidates are qualified, but the New York Times has questioned John McCain's overseas birth. Moreover, Barack Obama has produced a birth certificate that is clearly phoney, perhaps fraudulent. Further, Obama has not made his medical records public as McCain has. Do your job, congress, provide a formal certification of these two candidates to hold the office of President of theUnited States! Congress is the place to challenge McCain’s or Obama’s qualifications to be President The New York Times has twice run articles questioning whether John McCain’s birth in the Panama Canal Zone would disqualify him to be President based on Article II of the U.S. Constitution: “No Person except a natural born Citizen . . . shall be eligible to the Office of President”. “Natural born” is not defined. The blogosphere is ripe with speculation that Obama may also fail to meet the qualification, since his supporters posted online an inauthentic copy of a birth certificate purporting to be for Barack Obama. The allegations have raised the specter of a challenge to either candidate's eligibility to be President. Congress, not the courts are the constitutionally correct place to determine whether a President elect meets all of the qualifications to hold the Office of President. The place to challenge the qualifications of any Presidential candidate who wins the election would be in the United States Congress. The Constitution gives Congress the authority to oversee the counting of the electors’ ballots and to deal with cases where there is no clear qualified winner. Both Article II Section 1 and Amendment XII of the US Constitution call for President of the Senate to count the electors votes. There are procedures for Congress to make the choice if no one has a majority. Amendment XX has procedures for dealing with a situation where “the President elect shall have failed to qualify”. All the duties surrounding the issue of counting the electors ballots and selecting the President if no clear winner exits are designated to Congress, the courts have no role to play. It is not spelled out but if a challenge to a President’s qualifications were made at the time the electors’ votes are counted, Congress would have to deal with the issue. Evidence could be presented and testimony heard, then a decision would have to be made. There is nothing in the Constitution giving the courts authority to make the decision; lawyers think the courts are always the place for making decisions so they don’t think of other options that fit better with the structure of the Constitution. It does not matter whether the challenge is to the election of McCain, Obama or anyone else, the process would be the same. If the defect in the President’s qualifications were to come to light after the President was sworn in then the procedures for impeachment would be appropriate, since running for office in violation of the constitutional requirement for being a “natural born Citizen” would be high Crime or Misdemeanor. The Senate has already expressed the opinion that McCain is a “natural born Citizen” and eligible for the Office of the President. Senator Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) and Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) introduced the resolution during April of this year after the first New York Times article. There is no way that Congress is going to deny parents serving overseas the possibility that their children can become President so John McCain is safe. Obama might be required to present a Birth Certificate if his qualifications were challenged and then the issue would be resolved. For this election I don’ t think either candidate has anything to worry about but there needs to be a way to determine the qualifications of a President elect just to be certain that someone ineligible does not sneak through. All of the authority for counting the electors and dealing with a President elect who fails to qualify rest with Congress. Congress is the appropriate place to determine the President’s qualifications. There was a best selling book about how the Secret Service had to deal with the Clintons and the fact that Bill couldn't have gotten clearance to even go on a White House tour with his background. I don't know how much of a security risk he was before he was elected (the Secret Service usually exercises an ABUNDANCE of caution), but he sure has heck was responsible for the Chicoms getting our outdated missile guidance systems, taking campaign funds and he's still too hot for Hillary to be the Veep, as his dealings with the Middle East are somewhat suspect. Iraqi Defense Ministry officials told local media on Friday that Israeli warplanes operating out of a US airbase are conducting exercises in their country for a possible strike on neighboring Iran.

According to the sources, the Israeli planes enter Iraq via Jordanian airspace during the night, and then land at a US military base near the Iraqi city of Hadita.

If Israel ultimately decides to launch a aerial strike against Iran’s main uranium enrichment facility, taking off from Hadita would cut the flight time to the target down to about five minutes.

Israeli media was unable to verify the Iraqi report, but Israeli officials have admitted in recent weeks to conducting military maneuvers in preparation for a possible strike on Iran, including a major air force exercise over Greece last month.

Sources from inside Iran have advised that earlier today, July 8th, the Islamic regime has fired missiles at, and sent mortar shells into Camp Ashraf, where the Mojaheddin (MEK) in Iraq are sequestered. SIDEBAR: Photoshop altered picture (below) of Islamic Iran's "test" long range missile launch. Reports say that some of the missiles did not launch so the Mullahs used photoshop to duplicate one launch and show it as several. Look fo ryourself. And perhaps use false smoke trails try to hide that two of the launches did not have launchers. Western media did not bother and published these as REAL!

Methinks same rocket photographed at different stages in flight and layered in Photoshop, besides copying and pasting exhaust smoke. Indications arose that something was about to happen when Islamic Iranian forces announced a high level state of emergency in the Khuzestan region and moved additional missile launchers to Shalamcheh, one of their military sites on the Iranian side of the border. Reports state that on his recent visit to Iran, Iraqi premier, Al-Maliki, agreed to arrest and try some 150 or so MEK members who were at Camp Ashraf for having killed both Shias and Kurds for Saddam Hussein. When some Sunni leaders (and apparently US forces) nixed this idea and protected the MEK members, Al-Maliki granted the Islamic Iranian regime covert permission to attack Camp Ashraf. As further background, a Kurdish group which attacked the Islamic Iranian Air Force headquarters in Tehran and killed several officers and wounded nearly a dozen more, they reportedly had some MEK and Coalition Special Forces along on the operation. This thrust into the capital city of the Mullahs appears to have been a successful reconnaisance/pentration mission to test the ability to go in all the way into Tehran. Meanwhile, the Islamic Iranian ambassador to Baghdad has sent a message to the Mojaheddin that if they recant their antimullah mindset and wish to return to Iran they would be welcome. Sure! Similar to Khomeini promising the Shah's military that if they went neutral he would not harm them. they did and he slaughtered almost all senior officers and even low ranking ones. The individuals who comprise Iran's theocracy are now the worlds, as well as the vast majority of the Iranian people's greatest enemies. Now, Barack Obama has said that he is inclined to meet with the internationally controversial Iranian President at the right time after due preparation and advance work by US diplomats. Contrary to mainstream media views, the President of Iran is virtually powerless. Any candidate for the presidency of Iran must first be vetted by a hard-line group of twelve clerics who are controlled by the un-elected Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei. During the recent election for President of Iran the members of the Guardian Council disqualified over ninety-eight percent of the candidates, including all female candidates and virtually every single reformist. Hence, although Iran has elections, these elections are simply fodder for the mainstream media, providing straw figures to distract foreign politicians like Barack Obama. Many of Barack Obama's national security policies are sideways backward-looking and retreads from the Carter Administration. Obama supports direct negotiations with the Iranian theocracy, opposes support for pro-Democracy Iranian groups, and advocates open lines of relation with the most corrupt members of the regime. ISLAMIC IRAN - USE THE INTERNET AND DIE!

Iran's parliament is set to debate a draft bill which could see the death penalty used for those deemed to promote corruption, prostitution and apostasy on the internet, reports said on Wednesday. MPs on Wednesday voted to discuss as a priority the draft bill which seeks to "toughen punishment for harming mental security in society," the ISNA news agency said. The text lists a wide range of crimes such rape and armed robbery for which the death penalty is already applicable. The crime of apostasy (the act of leaving a religion, in this case Islam) is also already punishable by death. However, the draft bill also includes "establishing weblogs and sites promoting corruption, prostitution and apostasy", which is a new addition to crimes punishable by death. Those convicted of these crimes "should be punished as 'mohareb' (enemy of God) and 'corrupt on the earth'," the text says. Under Iranian law the standard punishments for these two crimes are "hanging, amputation of the right hand and then the left foot as well as exile". The bill — which is yet to be debated by lawmakers — also stipulates that the punishment handed out in these cases "cannot be commuted, suspended or changed". The internet is widely used in Iran despite restrictions on access and the blocking of thousands of websites with sexual content or deemed as insulting religious sanctities and promoting political dissent. Blogging is also very popular among cyber-savvy young Iranians, some openly discussing their private lives or criticising the system. Human rights groups have accused Iran of making excessive use of the death penalty but Tehran insists it is an effective deterrent that is carried out only after an exhaustive judicial process. The number of executions soared last year to 317 amid a campaign which the authorities said was aimed at improving security in society, and was sharply up on 2006 figures when Amnesty International recorded 177 executions. All legislation in Iran has to be rubber-stamped by a conservative clerical watchdog before it is written into law. The Guardians Council vets bills to see if they are in line with the constitution and Islamic law.

The latest to emerge publicly in Obama’s camp is Joelle Fishman, the chairman of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) Political Action Commission.

In a column titled, “Big political shifts are underway,” Fishman says that Obama could lead “a landslide defeat of the Republican ultra-right” this November and that he (Obama) is “ready to listen” to the “left and progressive voters” (who are) backing him. Fishman makes it clear that the CPUSA is part of this coalition.

Meanwhile, admitted CPUSA member Alan Maki, writing on the official Barack Obama website, in the “community blogs” section under an “Obama 08” banner, has mentioned the unmentionable.

That is the role of CPUSA member Frank Marshall Davis in mentoring Obama during his formative high school years in Hawaii.

Davis, who died in 1987, was a Stalinist who stayed with the CPUSA when others were abandoning it, and he refused, as late as 1956, to deny his membership in the party.

He was selected by Obama’s white grandfather to be the future candidate’s role model and father-figure.

Obama showed his gratitude by going to socialist conferences and selecting Marxist professors as his friends in college.

Later, of course, he would arrive in Chicago and launch his political career in the arms of communist terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, who, according to declassified intelligence information (PDF), were members of a group with connections to the CPUSA, foreign communist regimes, and even the Soviet KGB.

The information shows that their close terrorist associate, Kathy Boudin, attended Moscow University and was subsidized by the Soviet government. Her father was a CPUSA member and a registered Cuban agent, documents show.

Now, Mr. Khamenei, one must consider the second reason for the utter illegetimacy and complete invalidity of your absolutist "Guardianship of the Clergy" regime; namely, the [irredeemably] chronic incompetence of you and your predecessors in managing even the least of the economic needs of the people of Iran. The terrifying dimensions of this incompetence are made clear upon considering the enormous oil revenue of the past thirty years of Iran. In other words, your "Clerical Guardianship" regime in addition to depriving the Iranian people of all rights and liberties, and despite access to a windfall of an enormous wealth, has pushed Iran, which just prior to the revolution was so prosperous and full of promise as to be the envy of all of our neighbours, down the precipice of economic bankruptcy. And have thus afflicted the hardworking and gifted people of Iran with the deadly ailments of inflation and unemployment. Throughout the world, the number of regimes, which like yours, deprive their citizenry of fundamental human freedoms and impoverish them can be counted on one hand. Little wonder then, that on the international scene, your friends are limited to the likes of North Korea, Sudan and Syria. But, Mr. Khamenei, the robbing of the Iranian people of their rights and liberties and burdening them with backbreaking and ever increasing economic hardships, pales in comparison with the dangers and threats that you, through your ignorance and thuggery, have brought upon the security and the territorial integrity of our beloved Iran. It is a doubtless fact that even years before you and your collaborators succeeded in gaining control of the apparatus of government, you had schemed and fantasized about using the lever of religion to interfere in the interal affairs of all of Iran's neighbours. Indeed, the opening paragraphs of the constitution of your Islamic Republic, which more appropriately would be named "The Bill of No Rights", speaks quite clearly of such schemes. Your efforts in creating crises and seeking confrontations for the purpose of manipulating the thoughts of the Iranian people have much older roots; do they not? From the moment you and your ilk assumed power, you have maligned our historical personages and heroes, belittled our ancient works, and regularly confirmed your adamant animosity towards Iran's ancient culture and identity which are the firm foundations for the millennia old unity of our people. From the very begining, by decimating the ranks of our once strong and well-equipped military and by shedding the blood of its commanders, you gave the [Baa'thist] regime of Iraq the opportunity and the excuse for bold aggression against Iran. Right from the start, by treading on the different ethnicities, and by intimidating and belittling followers of faiths other than Shi'ism you have weakened the long held underpinnings of the unity and [amicable] coexistence amongst Iranians. Driven by ambitions of extending your dominance first to Iraq and then to Jerusalem, you unnecessarily prolonged the Iraq war at the expense of the lives of hundreds of thousands of Iranian youth and pre-youth and wastage of uncounted capital; so much so, in fact, that Iran which was originally the victim of aggression was seen in the eyes of the world and the United Nations as an aggressor itself [no better than Saddam]. In violation of one of the oldest and firmest principles of international law, you occupied the American embassy, held captive and tortured its staff, and forced that country to break diplomatic ties with Iran resulting in costly and unprecedented economic and political difficulties for the Iranian people. By direct and indirect interference in the internal affairs of our neighbours, including Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine and Afghanistan, and by supporting, through financial military and propagandist means, the most extreme and most violent enemies of liberty and coexistence in these societies, not only have you made the name of Iran synonymous with such despised words as "terrorist" and "rogue"; but also made enemies of a large number of the nations of the world, great and small. If until now the naive peoples of the world have been unable to discern your direct and indirect roles in causing strife and bloodshed in foreign lands, near and far from Iran; the words spoken, for the first time, by your old friend Mr. Khatami [Ahmadi-Nejad's predecessor] confessing and unveiling your current plots, have removed all doubt for everyone. Still you are not content with all of this for realizing your primary goals of twisting the mindset of the Iranian people by making enemies of others and fanning the flames of conflict and strife. For this very reason, under the pretext of accessing nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, you are pursuing more terrifying weapons so that once again you can make Iran the target of threats and attacks of others. It is as a consequence of this scheme of yours that today our country is faced with an unprecedented and terrifying crisis; a crisis which our dear peace loving compatriots have not had the smallest role in creating. The informed and long-sighted people of Iran see their own interests and welfare neither in armed and malicious interference in the fate of the peoples of Palestine, Iraq or Lebanon, nor in your animosity towards the free and advanced societies of the world, nor in your insane insistence on having a nuclear arsenal. The Iranian people have not forgotten that the preliminary steps for developing nuclear technology for peaceful purposes had already been taken before the revolution, since in that era no country in the world had anything to fear from the policies and aims of the government of Iran. You and your (Mullah) predecessors, however, have, by pursuing aggressive and provocative policies, not only completely destroyed that atmoshpere of trust and mutual understanding, but also by your willful ignorance have turned the majority if not all of the governments of the world into enemies of Iran; and all of this just so you can give yourself further excuses for further oppressing the Iranian people. Since, as I mentioned at the beginning of this letter, your regime is, in the eyes of my compatriots, devoid of any legitimacy; I ought not have addressed you and your regime. Nevertheless, my love for the sacred land of my ancestors and my concern for the future of my fellow countrymen leave me no choice but to warn you that the primary responsibility for every harm and injury which the territorial integrity and continuity of our beloved Iran may suffer from any world power lies solely with you and your collaborators. Know this that in the event of such a tragic calamity, your fate and that of your cohorts will not be better than that suffered by certain autocratic rulers who in recent years were made to take the seat of the accused for crimes against humanity and received their just punishment. If you refuse to learn from their fates, if the liberty and prosperity of the citizens of Iran do not concern you in the slightest, at the very least feel some concern for the land of your birth. If today, while you are able, you refuse to acknowledge the wishes of the nation and ask for their forgiveness, know this for certain that the power that you, like a Pharaoh, rely upon will not be able to withstand the ever increasing anger of the Iranian people; it will shatter and you will be made to answer for thirty years of calamitous tyranny. نیز پرداخته اند، آن هم به اتهام حق طلبی، به گناه تجاوز از حصار و حریم قرون وسطایی، به جرم تلاش برای گسیختن زنجیرهای بندگی و حقارتی که حکومت شما بر آنان تحمیل کرده است. حتی روحانیان حق طلب نیز که به نقش شما در سست کردن اعتقادات مذهبی بخش بزرگی از مردم ایران پی برده اند اگر زبان به انتقاد و اعتراض گشایند از انتقام شما مصون نمی مانند.تنها دو نهادی را که می توانند معرف و مترجم واقعی خواست و ارادۀ عمومی باشند، که همانا انتخابات ادواری و مجلس شوراست، به نمایشی مبتذل و فرمایشی و به ابزاری شرم آور برای فریب مردمان فرو کاسته اید. بی حضور احزاب و مطبوعات آزاد و دادگستری مستقل، مردم ایران همانقدر از انتخابات شما بهره برده اند که مردم اتحاد جماهیر شوروی سابق از انتخابات نظام استالینی.و این جاست، آقای خامنه ای، که باید به دلیل دوم سلب کامل اعتبار و مشروعیت ولایت مطلقۀ فقیه پرداخت که همانا بی کفایتی مزمن شما و پیشینیانتان در برآوردن حداقل نیازهای اقتصادی مردم ایران است. ابعاد وحشتناک این بی کفایتی به ویژه با توجه به درآمد سرشار سی سالۀ ایران از فروش نفت آشکارمی شود. به سخن دیگر، نظام ولایی شما افزون بر سلب همۀ حقوق و آزادی های مردم ایران، و علیرغم دست یافتن به ثروتی باد آورده و عظیم، ایران آباد و بالندۀ آستانۀ انقلاب اسلامی را که رشک جوامع همسایه بود به سراشیب ورشکستگی اقتصادی کشانده و مردم کوشا و مستعدش را به مصیبت های جانکاه تورم و بیکاری روزافزون دچار کرده است. در سراسر جهان، از شمار انگشتان یک دست بیشتر نیستند حکومت هایی که شهروندان خویش را، بسان حکومت شما، هم از آزادی های اساسی بشری و آزادی های مردم ایران و خم کردن پشتشان با سنگینی مشکلات روزافزون اقتصادی با همۀ اهمیتشان در برابر خطرها و تهدیدهایی که از سر جهل و غوغاگری متوجۀ امنیت و تمامیت ارضی میهن عزیز ما کرده اید رنگ می بازند. واقعیت مسلم آن است که سال ها پیش از تسلط شما و یارانتان بر مسند حکومت، سودای بهره جویی از اهرم مذهب برای دخالت در جوامع همسایۀ ایران مهم ترین وسوسۀ ذهنی شما بوده است. در مقدمۀ قانون اساسی جمهوری اسلامی، که «سند سلب حقوق ملت» نامی برازندۀ آن است، از چنین سودایی به صراحت سخن رفته.تلاش شما برای حادثه آفرینی و مبارز طلبی برای تحریف افکار مردم ایران ریشه ای بس دیرینه دارد. از همان آغاز تسلط شما و یارانتان بر مسند قدرت بود که به خوار شمردن بزرگان و قهرمانان تاریخی و تحقیر آثار گرانقدر باستانی ایران پرداختید و عناد و خصومت خویش با هویت و فرهنگ کهن ایران، یعنی شالوده های استوار همبستگی هزاران سالۀ مردمانش، را تایید کردید. از همان آغاز بود که با درهم شکستن شیرازه های ارتش مجهز و مقتدر ایران و ریختن خون سردارانش، به حکومت عراق بهانه و فرصت دادید تا جسورانه بر میهن عزیز ما بتازد. از همان آغاز بود که با سرکوب اقوام گوناگون ایرانی، با تهدید و تحقیر ایرانیان پیرو مذاهبی جز تشیع، شالوده های دیرینۀ همبستگی و همزیستی میان ایرانیان را سست کردید. جنگ با عراق را، به بهای سنگین قربانی کردن صدها هزار جوان و نوجوان ایرانی و اتلاف سرمایه های بی حساب، آن هم به سودای تسلط بر عراق و رسیدن به قدس، چنان به درازا کشاندید تا ایران قربانی تجاوز، خود در نظر جهانیان و در داوری شورای امنیت سازمان ملل متحد، همتراز متجاوزان شناخته شود. با نقض یکی از کهن ترین و مسلم ترین اصول حقوق بین الملل به اشغال سفارت آمریکا و دستگیری و شکنجۀ اعضایش پرداختید، و با وادار ساختن این کشور به قطع رابطه با ایران، تنگناهای اقتصادی و سیاسی بی سابقه و پر هزینه ای برای مردم ایران به ارمغان آوردید. با دخالت مستقیم و غیر مستقیم در امور داخلی همسایگان دور و نزدیک ایران، از جمله عراق و لبنان و فلسطین و افغانستان، و با حمایت تبلیغاتی و مالی و نظامی خود از تندروترین و خشونت گراترین دشمنان آزادی و همزیستی در این جوامع، نه تنها نام ایران عزیز را در جوامع بین المللی همنشین صفات پلیدی چون «تروریست» و «یاغی» کردید بلکه شماری بزرگ از کشورهای بزرگ و کوچک جهان را به صف دشمنانش راندید. اگر تا کنون ساده لوحانی در جهان نقش مستقیم حکومت شما را در آشوب ها و کشتارهای سرزمین های دور و نزدیک ایران نمی دیدند سخنانی که برای نخستین بار از زبان یار دیرین شما، آقای محمد خاتمی، در اعتراف بی پرده به این نقش جاری شد جای تردید برای کسی باقی نگذاشت.اما، این همه نیز برای تحقق اهداف اصلی شما که منحرف کردن افکار مردم ایران، از راه تحریک دیگران به دشمنی با ایران و برافروختن آتش ستیز و جنگ، است کافی نبود. از همین رو، به بهانۀ دسترسی به انرژی هسته ای برای مقاصد صلح آمیز، درصدد دسترسی به سلاح های خوفناک تری برآمده اید تا بار دیگر ایران را آماج تهدید و تعرض دیگران سازید. از رهگذراصرار شما برچنین سودایی است که امروز کشور عزیزما با بحرانی بی سابقه و خطرناک روبروست؛ بحرانی که هم میهنان عزیز صلح دوست من کمترین نقشی در ایجاد آن نداشته اند.مردم آگاه و دوراندیش ایران منفعت و مصلحت خویش را نه دخالت مسلحانه و موذیانۀ شما در سرنوشت مردم فلسطین و عراق و لبنان می بینند، نه در دشمنی شما با جوامع آزاد و پیشرفتۀ جهان و نه در اصرار دیوانه وارتان بر دست یافتن به سلاح هسته ای. مردم ایران از یاد نبرده اند که موجبات دسترسی به فنآوری و انرژی هسته ای، آن هم با موافقت و همکاری جامعۀ بین المللی، سال ها پیش از انقلاب فراهم شده بود زیرا هیچ کشوری در جهان بیمی از هدف ها و سیاست های حکومت آن روز ایران نداشت. شما و پیشینیان شما، اما، با هدف های تجاوز طلبانه و سیاست های تحریک آمیز خود نه تنها آن فضای اعتماد و تفاهم را یکسره نابود کرده اید بلکه با جهل و عمد اکثریت قریب به اتفاق دولت های جهان را از نزدیک و دور، به دشمنان ایران مبدل ساختید تا برای سرکوب هرچه بیشتر مردم آزادۀ ایران بهانۀ دیگری بیابید.گرچه در آغاز این سخن، حکومت شما آقای خامنه ای و دستیارانتان را محروم از هر نوع اعتبار و مشروعیت در چشم هموطنانم خواندم، و بنابراین نمی بایست شما و حکومت شما را مخاطب خود سازم، اما، عشق به سرزمین پاک نیاکانم و نگرانی از سرنوشت هم میهنان محرومم مرا ناگزیر از آن می کند که به شما هشدار دهم که مسئولیت اصلی هر آسیب و خدشه ای که از سوی هر نیرو و قدرتی به تمامیت و یکپارچگی ایران عزیز، به هر گوشه ای از این سرزمین مقدس، وارد آید با شما و دستیاران شماست.بدانید که در صورت رخ دادن فاجعه ای از اینگونه، سرنوشت شما و یارانتان بهتر از سرنوشت حاکمان خودکامه ای که در سال های اخیر بر کرسی متهمان به جنایت علیه بشریت نشستند و کیفری در خور The cute cards were meant to notify locals of a new telephone number for non-emergency phone calls but instead have become a flashpoint for a clash of cultures. Shopkeepers are refusing to display the offending ad and a Dundee city councilor is calling for an investigation. "My concern was that it's not welcomed by all communities, with the dog on the cards," said Dundee councilor Mohammed Asif, according to the report. The Tayside police force said the police puppy, the force’s "newest recruit," was not intended to cause offense. "His incredible worldwide popularity — he has attracted record visitor numbers to our Web site — led us to believe Rebel could play a starring role in the promotion of our non-emergency number," said a police spokesperson.
